I was going to give the new Stormwatch a try as well, but JLI has really put me off. Stormwatch is hit or miss, but I'm just a huge Apollo and Midnighter fan, that any iteration within the mainstream DC Universe is enough to make me piddle with glee.

I agree, I didn't enjoy the first arc at all.....or even the next arc after. I never really cared for Vixen but Fire and Ice, who I actually enjoy, got screwed. I did like the Gardner/Booster conflict and didn't like the Booster/Godiva connection. It seemed the only reason why she was there was so she could hit on Booster and flirt with him. Also, does anyone ever post the comic book release lists anymore here? I was about to do that and discuss my pull list...but I don't want to take that from someone who does. Do you know what I miss most in JLI?.......THE COMEDY The original JLI was funny as all hell but DCNU version is just dull, As cliche as this is "Why So serious?". Where's the JLI that gave us this ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/cropsy13/one_punch_guy_gardner_batman.jpg) In fact this whole NU is missing some comedy

I broke my New52 rule and read all 10 issues of Justice League International. I can see why it's getting cancelled. I usually really like Dan Jurgens, but he just fails across the board here. I don't know if it's because of editorial mandate or what, but it was just a poor book, there was no introduction for the new characters, no attempt made to draw in new readers, they killed off a character randomly, disabled all but one of the females on the team and then just made everyone else look weak and rubbish. Just bad. New 52 rule back on. So, in order to evaluate the New 52, you chose a book you knew was going to be cancelled? I recommend Batman, Animal Man, and Justice League.

No, I choose a writer and characters I have previously enjoyed. Animal Man, I looked at, but the art isn't the sort of art I enjoy, it's a bit too 'scratchy.' Batman, I hear, has just become silly with secret gangs and Justice League......not really interested in the New Superman and Justice League tends to be Superman heavy. If I try new DC again, it will likely be Stormwatch, Demon Knights and/or Justice League Dark. And maybe Flash. I love his Rogues.

I agree, Batman is the best title on the shelf today from DC. Batman #10....mindblowing. And Snyder isn't even creating a new origin as shown within this issue....it is discussed in previous DC continuity.

It's funny, you guys say that, but then other comic book forums, and indeed review sites tell me it's awful and not worth buying and makes Batman seem a fool

I understand, an opinion is an opinion. Most of the places I go to like Comicvine, IGN, and CBR all love Snyder's run on Batman right now. Their boards love it too. But happens, there will be people that like or dislike something. I like Batman so far. So, I am going to suggest it to others.

Well, Batman is basically the #1 comic out there right now, so it's kind of a given that with more readers there will be more people that find fault in it.
Personally, I've been a faithful reader since Knightfall when I was a wee lad, and the current Batman has been right up there in the best it's ever been category.

If I did want to try Batman, am I just reading Batman or do I need to also read Detective and Nightwing and ...and Robin and Batwing and Batdog and Batgirl and Bathorse and all the rest?

Also Batman & Robin is good, Nobody was a good villain IMO.
Also the other Bat titles aren't mandatory but Nightwing, Red Hood & Batwing are really good

Batman and Robin is good but if you are annoyed by Damian Wayne being a killing, uber-confident 10 year old, don't get it. Nightwing is good read, Nightwing #10 should be good jump on point. Detective Comics lacks....I don't really pick it up. Dark Knight was bad, in my opinion but now it has a new writer and focuses on Scarecrow....and I love him. Batman Inc. is good, in my opinion. I don't read anything else.
But this all my opinion. And I actually like the DCNU so far.....so you probably won't agree with me in anything, lol.

I liked Earth-2 if that counts.
It isn't that I dislike the DCnU, it's more I dislike the reasoning. There was no need to reboot their entire universe, especially the way they did it in that it is and it isn't a reboot. Just a dumb move, especially seen as it only gave them a small blip in terms of sales increases.
As for the Damien mention, I have had an issue with him in the past, not in that he is an uber confident 10 year old, but that he acts like that, but never gets called on it, and when he does, or did, it was by Tim, and Tim was always made to look like the one in the wrong.
By all means be arrogant and confident and a show off, but get called on it, like Doom and Namor. If you get to do it and get away with it, you're Black Panther and I think you suck
