Now probably isn't the best time to jump on with Marvel, being that in a couple of months they are planning a big creative change up, but I'd look out for anything written by Kieren Gillan (currently writing Uncanny X-Men and Journey into Mystey), Jonathan Hickman (Currently writing Fantastic Four and FF), Ed Brubacker (Captain America, Winter Soldier) and Rick Remender (Uncanny X-Force, Venom and Secret Avengers).
Obvious shout outs go to Peter David, whose X-Factor has been his book for years and years now and Abnett and Lanning's New Mutants is a decent book, but their cosmic stuff a few years ago was better.

I didn't know they were changing things up i only once and while dip into Marvel news more interested in what DC are doing and when next issue of invincible is coming out from Image.
I might continue to read some of my friends Marvel stuff and wait and hear from Marvel readers in a few months what they think of the whole shake up thing.

That may be the best thing to do. Marvel are in the middle of an event right now, so the lay of the land isn't that easy to plot.
Out of interest, are you a new DC fan, or a long time fan despite the new 52 stuff?

If you're into Invincible, you may want to check out Danger Club, also from Image. Teen superheroes have to take over when all the adult superheroes split to go fight some mega-war in another galaxy. The adult supes die and the teen supes that are left fight amongst each other. First two issues have been pretty solid.

Been a DC fan since the 1990's though i stopped reading Comics for a few years in my early 20's (i wasn't making money to buy comics and pay rent) and didn't pick it up again until about two years ago when i was at a friends and saw he had some DC Comics laying around his living room. The new 52 is a bit mixed with me i like some of the stuff there doing but some of it is horrible.

If you haven't been reading Captain America recently, it's still a really fun book. It's more superhero-y since the renumbering, as Bru's doing the more espionage flavored stuff with Winter Soldier ( also awesome.. and hell the only two Marvel books I read); The latest arc brought Rachel Leighton aka Diamondback into Cap's life, and she's working with SHIELD. The new big bad of this series is a character named Bravo who's pretty awesome, and he's now linked with Hydra. Latest arc introduced a new Scourge and it was revealed that he's {Spoiler} Dennis Dunphy aka D-Man, one of Cap's sidekicks from way back and one time Avenger I really love how Brubaker has always been able to integrate characters and concepts from the past into his own stories.

Anyone reading the latest Incredible Hulk run? Anyone wanna explain to me what the hell is going on? Cause I don't have the slightest idea what's happening. Long story, short: {Spoiler} Dr Doom separated Hulk and Banner. Banner went crazy, while Hulk was living the solo life. Eventually, their paths crossed as CrazyBanner sent gamma mutated beasts after Hulk, goading him into a fight. Third parties wanted Banner out of the way, and to manipulate Hulk, but it just came down to Banner and Hulk fighting.
Eventually, Banner detonated a bomb that incinerated him in Hulk's arms. Hulk thought he was dead, but eventually, after having sex with Red She-Hulk in the middle of the street, he came so hard that he relaxed and reverted into Banner, still crazy. So apparently, when Banner was incinerated, Hulk absorbed him.
Anyway, now the arc is called Stay Angry, and in a reverse of the character's inception, Hulk needs to stay angry and big/green in order to prevent the mad scientist from coming out. Each story starts and ends with Hulk becoming cognizent of his surroundings (different every time, last issue he was in Atlantis with a giant scar on his chest, this issue he's floating in space with no helmet). I am reading it. I just honestly didn't think the explosion made hulk absorb banner back into him. They never explain it, is just. "Welp I'm back to Banner now"

On a somewhat-related note... I'm glad that the whole "Cap losing his Super-Soldier" powers wasn't because of his lack of faith in America, but rather because of something tying in from the Steve Rogers: Super-Soldier mini-series, where the same villain (the robotic Machinesmith, for the record) supressed the Super-Soldier Serum inside Cap, making him scrawny again. Plus, I do appreciate Sharon Carter kicking ass and taking names, too.

Then there IS still hope for my dream comic book mini-series "D-Man: Life on the D-List". .....And I feel like a total nerd for admitting that I have that idea in my head.

He's been offing supervillains that have government amnesty/witness protection. Also looks like Bravo, Viper and the rest of Hydra are behind the whole thing.

Just a question for the people who've been reading DC comics, has Cassandra Cain popped up yet at all? Always been a mark for her and would love to see her being used properly once again.

I haven't read any of it I'll confess but the idea just seems to diminish some aspects Batman to me. Like, if there's a couple of dozen Batmen about the place, it just seems to dilute the original. It'd be like a dozen Captain Americas or Thors or Green Arrows. I'd use a wrestling comparison but I can't think of which one to pick out of all of them.
