It would be excellent if he went to full-time wrestler, but what would happen to him doing the ring announcing for Del Rio? People don't care much for Del Rio as it is.
Maybe a split personality/MPD would work. Just don't have him do Al Snow's old Avatar gimmick.

Maybe do what someone suggested a while ago. Have a masked man come out and attack Santino, and we realize that hmm, we never see this man and Ricardo Rodriguez together in the same place.

Getting a Blitzkrieg vibe from that outfit...Is Ricardo actually solid in the ring? I've heard good things about him but never taken the time to actually look his ring work up...He does have horrible prison tattoos though it seems

If we can look past the idea that we'd know who it was under the mask, Rodriguez should come out as Chimaera or another new masked persona, and feud with Del Rio, all while still maintaining himself as Del Rio's manservant. The idea being he's finally sick of being pushed around.

Wait, seriously? He's a wrestler? Way to make that f***ing tuxedo match even worse.
Ricardo is entertaining. They're idiots not to try and do something with this. There are so many places this could go if they did it right. Getting masked vengeance on Del Rio, or even being "fired" by Del Rio only for a mysterious luchador to start assisting him in winning matches. Hell, he could even go maskless, I just want to see him have some spotlight. If he's going to have solo feuds, even with an irritant like Santino, he ought to be able to put on a show.

I saw a picture of him teaming with Del Rio at a houseshow in his Chimaera gear (without the mask of course) so there's a chance they go that route.

I'd have him do both. Wrestle under the mask and announce Del Rio since he's the only thing keeping Del Rio over ATM. Just treat them as two different people for as long as possible. The problem I see is he is more valuable/has more job security to WWE as a comedy ring announcer than a masked wrestler.
