ROOT Seattle didn't even send their announcers over to Tokyo, they're watching on a monitor in Seattle. Free baseball in the first game. The As one upped them by not broadcasting the game at all

Good God. Looking at the schedule. The World series wont be over til around thanksgiving.
They need to shorten the season by about 20 games. Have the World Series over by say, October 15th.

Or stop moving opening day farther and farther back and then expanding the playoffs. I remember back in the late 90s early 2000s opening day was always around 3/31 or 4/1 now this year its all the way back to the 5th or 6th for most teams.

I really like the chances of the jays this year, with the extra wildcard and the fact they had such a good preseason hopefully carries over to the regular season

Really annoyed I didn't get to sit down to watch the tape delay of the game today. Will settle for some Spring Training ball.

Or have double headers again which cuts down on the number of days. I mean Fathers Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Canada Day/July 4th weekend are great chances for that. Just doing that cuts down on a week of play time.

Okay, who told Bartolo Colon it was 2002? That's the only way I see him pitching 8 innings of 3 hit ball against a team.
Also, all of the runs in the game today were via home runs from Smoak for Seattle, and Cespedes, Reddick, and Gomes for Oakland, and the A's win 4-1.

Bartolo Colon had some freakishly good games last year, too. Also helps that he was pitching against Seattle.
Looks like the Yankee rotation is shaping up to be (not in order obviously):
Sabathia Nova Kuroda Garcia Hughes
Pineda's probably going to start the season in Triple A because he wasn't so hot in spring training and then bring him back up. It's going to be interesting to see what happens when Andy comes back. I assume Garcia either becomes a long man or gets traded to someone who needs a veteran pitcher. But no clue what happens after that.

The big question for the Tigers (outside of the whole infield defense thing) is who will emerge as the 5th starter to join Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, and Porcello. Jacob Turner and Andy Oliver both got optioned down, so they're out of the running for now. That leaves Drew Smyly and Duane Below as the two guys in the running, unless the Tigers make a trade to get someone, which isn't out of the question. They've been showing interest in John Lannan for a while now.

Unless the Angels are picking up almost all of the contract why didnt the Indians just sign Vladimir Guerrero who they worked out last week.
EDIT- Trevor Crowe...they are giving up a guy who can actually contribute in the majors? yeah Crowe isn't great but still.

Am I crazy to think that the Nats have shot to get in the postseason this year?

But still, another lefthanded bat? That makes it, what, ten?

Am I crazy to think that the Nats have shot to get in the postseason this year? I don't see why not. They finished only a game under .500 last year despite getting only 25 IP out of Strasburg, 100 games from Zimmerman, and a poor performance out of Werth. Provided they all bounce back and Gio gives them 200 IP, they can win close to 90 and make a run at one of the wild card spots.

Now it looks like the Crowe deal as a seperate deal and is not going to happen.
