This is like choosing between pizza and ice cream. I like both, but for different reasons.
However, I also like pizza and the Beatles better, FWIW.

I like 2, maybe 3 Beatles songs. And usually they're better when covered by other bands, in my opinion. I know they inspired many bands, but I've never found it that enjoyable to sit down and listen to them.
On the other hand, don't think I've ever heard a Queen song I dislike, and their lesser known ones can be better than the big hits, and they had the greatest frontman of all time, bar none.
(As a side note, today it was on the news that Queen edged out The Beatles as the best selling artist in the UK in the last 50 years, so...)

must say im a bit surprised by the poll results thus far. It's not even close IMO. Beatles have a far deeper catalog of great songs, far more influential, and better. To each his own i suppose. As for people saying they are dated. I will only agree that their early albums like Please Please Me, Beatles For Sale, Hard Day's Night, Help are dated, but only certain songs. Anything from Rubber Soul and on easily stands up today.
I like Queen and all, but not even close.

All of their music holds up today, IMHO, but then again I really pretty much listen to oldies/classic rock stations.

I feel that Queen had a very unique sound. Freddie Mercury was not scared to perform live in front of hundreds of thousands of fans. The Beatles got annoyed at the crowds and stopped touring.

No offense to Beatles fans, the only songs I really like are "Hard Day's Night" "Helter Skelter" and "I am teh Walrus" while Queen is my favorite band of all time, Beatles might be in my top 20 but YMMV

Queen's my pick. While I do like The Beatles, it's not even close for me.

Queen would not exist without the Beatles.

Queen performing "Imagine" in tribute of Lennon the day after his death. Just thought I'd share this.

The Beatles are obviously the more influential band, but I've still got more Queen songs on my iPod. Plus none of the Beatles' singing voices could strike the emotions Freddie's did.

I'm going to give the edge to The Beatles, but that's not to take away from Queen.
The main question was, who rocked the most? But even then, towards the end of their careers The Beatles had some great rock songs. "Helter Skelter" alone is a kickass rock and roll song, so while their early work was safe, lovely Pop, their late stuff kicked all sorts of ass.
Admittedly, I know more about The Beatles than I do Queen, and while Queen is great, I think even Queen would tell you that the Fab Four win this battle, so I have to pick them.

Queen isn't in the same league as The Beatles
I love Queen but it's true

I'm legitimately stunned Queen is winning this poll.

Paul McCartney didn't even write his best songs until he was in Wings.

This really depends on how you look at it. For influence on music you can't undersell the Beatles, even people that hate them generally can acknowledge their insane amount of influence. It's flat out factual.
As for liking the material, I do prefer the Beatles, I feel they're much more consistent than Queen. Queen recorded some flat out dogshit.
I do like the comparison though, because every member of Queen wrote number one singles, they were an insanely talented band.

Really, though, for the most part I actually would say the two bands are about equal, the big difference for me is that Mercury is, imo, the best f***ing front man to EVER grace rock 'n roll, and that is the reason I truly prefer Queen. His voice makes even their most WTF worthy lyrics sound like they came directly from heaven.
None of the Beatles could honestly sing all that well, imo. They could play the hell out of their instruments and write incredible lyrics, just couldn't sing that well for me. Like a good frontman is all that stops The Beatles from being my all time favorite band.

The Beatles were fantastic but Freddie Mercury's voice just blows practically everyone else out of the water. I'm gutted him and Meatloaf never got together to do a duet of some kind, that would have been sublime.

None of The Beatles had the range of Mercury but I find it hard to believe someone can listen to "Day in the life" and claim none of The Beatles can sing well.
