I'm still trying to piece together why Hawkins and Reks are employed. I mean, I like Hawkins at least (Reks is useless), but they contribute absolutely nothing. Somebody's gotta job to the Usos.

The problem with following the Ryder approach to getting over, Ryder actually has a talent for what he does. The concept of Midcard Mafia is interesting, but the execution is horrible and, unlike Ryder's, I can't figure out a way it could translate into a workable gimmick on TV.
They'd be better off doing their own vignettes in the style of Cliff Compton's "World Dominotion" skit. Something that can give their characters some depth and a reason to like/dislike them, since right now they're "those two generic guys" or "those guys who make that awful cartoon".

It was in episode 3, I believe. It was a photo of the Four Horsemen in the background, with Benoit being one of the members. Ah. How moronic. That's not nearly as moronic as what I imagined when I read "Chris Benoit photo". I seriously thought they used him as a punchline or something.

Here's one bit of "Newz" that I hope is true. Good night those cartoons sucked hard.

If this is true (which is the standard statement to make anytime a story like this comes out), I hope the heat is because it was about as funny as "Mystic River'.

I am extremely pleased at this news.
There NEEDED to be some sort of disciplinary action taken for making those cartoons, even though it was taken for a different reason.
The bottom line is that no one should get away with putting something like that online. =P

I love how this entire thread is basically saying "I feel bad for those guys but...THANK GOD SOMEBODY PUT AN END TO THAT THING."

I bet Drew McIntyre is glad he never got directly involved with those.

Hawkins is there because once Ryder gets established they will run a jealous best Janetty friend angle. They always do it. They can't resist it. Which'll be reacted to by the crowd about as warmly as that time Shelton Benjamin issued an open challenge and it was a returning-from-Firedville Charlie Haas. That happened? I'm pretty sure everyone _EXPECTED_ it to be Haas, but it ended up being Carlito instead.

I'm pretty sure everyone _EXPECTED_ it to be Haas, but it ended up being Carlito instead. I think we have a few different instances of something being jumbled together. If I remember correctly, RVD and Benjamin were feuding and they did the Pick Your Poison deal where one guy go to choose the other's opponents. RVD chose Haas to be Benjamin's opponents and that was the return of Charlie Haas in 2006.

I agree, but I think that if WWE ever go for this angle with Ryder and Hawkins, things can turn out much better for both of them. Come to think of it, Hawkins' character and look are very reminiscent of old school HBK. He's got that going for him... I mean, Ryder is already over... They could put Hawkins over (like they did HBK) and they'd both come out of it looking like stars. Michaels and Jannety Feud = Win-Lose situation Ryder and Hakwins Feud = Possible Win-Win

Hawkins and Reks deserve to be fired simply for thinking that Dark Match Mafia was a good idea in the first place.
I get that theyre trying to be"loose cannon" heels, but frankly, we dont care about either of you. You both suck, go away. Go to TNA and cut your big shoot, brother.

The concept of Midcard Mafia is interesting, but the execution is horrible and, unlike Ryder's, I can't figure out a way it could translate into a workable gimmick on TV. When I first heard of "Tyler Reks new show Midcard Mafia", I assumed that it was going to be about him being mad at Ryder, Ziggler, Swagger, etc, for hogging the midcard time slots, and "keeping the others down" or something.

I actually liked their show. It was extremely dumb and silly, but I like that kind of humor.
I actually thought they were getting a push due to the show as both Reks and Hawkins recently got a Superstars tag-team match against Kofi and Bourne the tag-team champs. It was a fun little match, and I'm more entertained by Reks and Hawkins (with his cane) than I was before the cartoon.
Like Ryder they were willing to do something different to try and get over. As the 4th tag-team on the roster they may just end up feuding with Air-Boom in the future after the Colon feud concludes.

Some of the comments in this thread are ridiculous. Some people are acting like they were forced to watch the vids. That or you're watching them just so you can say how much they suck after. If you don't like it, then don't watch them. And whether or not they keep making them shouldn't be any of your business.

And as we approach page three of this thread, we reach the point of the discussion where people have come to defend their work and criticize the collective hivemind of those who have critiqued the videos claiming that the videos 'made them forget what it was like to laugh' and so forth.
By page five, there will be an acknowledgment that the two sides will never share a similar view and the thread will disappear only to have a new thread created once it turns out that the videos aren't being done anymore because Tyler Reks forgot to pay the animators.
