So I'm here watching the "Macho Man Randy Savage Ultimate Collection" dvd on Netflix and even on the first match just watching it you can tell this guy's got it. The way Savage tells a story in the ring each and every time he's just an amazingly great wrestler. Everything about him enhances that story, I love watching his matches.
What other wrestlers tell amazing stories in the ring?
Another that come to mind is Shawn Michaels (of course).

Undertaker (since you already said HBK)
John Cena on his good days.

Randy Orton and Christian are both top-notch at doing this. Watch their matches from this past Summer. Orton specifically is great at remembering to sell an early-match injury even after the match is over.

HBK, can't tell a story in the ring for shit.
The only story he could do decently was "big man VS little man". Thats it.

HBK/Jericho? I'll give you that one. I actually liked the feud they had in '08? '09?

Bret Hart for sure. One of the best storytellers ever in the ring.

Mick Foley
The guy rarely won a big match, but he made you believe that he would win. I am not talking about promos either.

I always thought Edge was pretty good at this. Especially during his feud with Cena.

The Rock. The reason he's one of the biggest stars in wrestling is because of this reason (well, that and the gallons of charisma that ooze out of his ass).

Gotta go with Bret Hart and its not just me saying that Vince (He should know) /Stone Cold/ Animal from LoD there are so many who have said he is the best In ring story teller.
Just watch his Iron Man match with Shawn and the subtle heel things he does in the match there great or say Say ignore that and try his match with Bulldog at Summerslam and the little things he does with the crowd.

Sheamus' stories about his uncle come to mind.
Serious answer - HBK, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero

Most main eventers in WWE history are great storytellers: Hogan, Savage, Piper, Bret, HBK, Taker, Austin, Rock, Foley, HHH, Jericho, Guerrero, Angle, Cena, Orton, Punk, Edge.

Bret and Savage were tops at this.
I think it's something that is really missing from the action nowadays, "storytelling" for most guys means just giving the "COME ONNNN" spot when they get a near fall. Character subtleties really matter, Gabriel's hesistation before hitting the 450, for instance.
Out of the current crop, I'd say Punk, Del Rio, Ziggler, Christian and mayyybbbe Orton are pretty much best at this. Ryder will get there sooner rather than later, and I'll throw in a dark horse and say I honestly thought Morrison was well above average in this regard.

Vince McMahon was awesome at it. Vince made every match he was ever win quite watchable. Just remember his WM match VS Hogan, with Vince wearing the crimson mask peeking above the ring apron on that close-up.
