Brett Major was teaming with his "brother" Brian Major in Deep South Wrestling.
Cody Runnels had just debuted in Ohio Valley Wrestling.
A new diva named Beth Phoenix was recovering from a broken jaw she suffered two weeks prior, only a month after debuting on Raw.
Matt Sydal was touring with Ring of Honor in the midst of a feud with Delirious, while Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah was touring across the Northeast US with several indies.
Bryan Danielson was the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion, feuding with ROH Pure Champion Nigel McGuinness.
CM Punk was preparing to make his debut on WWE-owned ECW at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Sixty-six months later, they are your United States champion, Intercontinental champion, Divas champion, co-Tag Team champions, World Heavyweight champion, and WWE champion respectively. Think about that.

And Cody Rhodes wasn't doing much, thus he is the greatest success story of them all.

Where was Kofi at during that time period?
Im a huge Bourne/Sydal mark since his time in the in indy's so Im very happy right now that he is getting such a long run with his first championship in the 'e. I cant say I dislike any champions right now, they are all great. Shows how much of a talented roster they have.

Where was Kofi at during that time period? I think doing this: So what happened to your promise of rebuilding America, Kofi? Money talks, I guess.

Wasn't Dolph Ziggler Chavo's caddy around that time? He was a member of The Spirit Squad at the time.

When the E breaks up Air Boom (and it will be soon), I wouldn't be shocked if Kofi becomes the heel.

Why is this Kofi Kingston not in the WWE? Well, for one he doesn't have the accent anymore, and then there's the fact that he's not being billed as being from Jamaica anymore...
