Still its like the skinny fat ass thing he tried to do with CM Punk in that if you have to think about it too much then it doesn't work for the majority I can agree that it was an awful choice of words, but people are just throwing their own meaning into his words when it isn't even close. Well what you want to get across and what gets across is apart of the success of a promo and you can't fault the audience when its vague and easily misconstrued

I'm just saying, taking the context into consideration, and what he DID and DID NOT say, you can understand what he was actually talking about. Maybe its vague, but the audience should be smart enough (at least the audience here) to be able to determine what he actually meant.

Alright, somethings really been bugging me with all this talk about that promo. How I took it, Triple H wasn't claiming to have beaten Undertaker. He was stating that, at the end of the night, Taker couldn't leave on his own two feet and he hasn't been seen since. The streak is over, in the sense that, Taker's done. Retired. Never gonna wrestle again at 'mania. Not that the streak is over as in 18-1, but that it has ended at 19-0 and will never grow past that. He never out and out said he pinned him or beat him or anything. He was basically saying that they beat each other up so bad that Taker will never wrestle again. I think most people understand what he was saying, but it was just bizarre. Like some spoiled 6 year old kid who can't accept that he lost.

Now that I think about it, this HHH promo really contradicts the promo he did right after Wrestlemania. During that promo he went on about what a great match they had, was praising the Undertaker on his win, and saying how he'd gladly accept if he had a chance to do it again next year. Now in this promo he's trying to minimize Undertaker's win by saying how he pretty much destroyed him during the match and ended his streak and his career. This might have all made sense if HHH was a heel for this recent promo, but the fact that he's still considered a face puzzles me.

The ones that will hear someone's promo (in this case, Triple H) and automatically say it sucks, or that its bullshit, because of who is saying it. Not saying that is anyone in this thread. Just adding a bit onto what you said, and it can apply to any wrestler.

Yeah, it wasn't particularly good. A rare miss from HHH. What was he supposed to be right about? I guess HHH's side was that Nash has been a liar and a backstabber all through their friendship. Where Nash's side is that HHH has chaaanged maaaan, he's totally not cool anymore. (Basically the same story TNA did with Hogan and "The Band"). What happened to you China Hunter? You used to be cool

Better than most Kevin Nash promos;
"HEY! I'm Kevin Nash! Big Daddy Cool. Remember 1995?...I was there...ham sandwiches...zzzzzzz."

Firstly if anyone else had done this promo I'd bet it wouldn't lead to this thread.
Anyway, HHH for me is one of the best there's been when it comes to promos. I do agree this promo was a little sub-par for his standard, or even anyone's standard. It was clearly an "off-day" for him.
I agree with an earlier post about there not being enough emotion shown in a lot of promos recently though, not just this one.
