"I’ve been thinking about it...maybe our whole sixteen year relationship was all based on lies and deception, just two guys, trying to scratch and claw their way to the top – nothing more.
But this Sunday it’s not going to matter who thinks their right or who thinks their wrong, this Sunday...might...will make right.
This Sunday I will climb to the top of the ladder...because I am right. This Sunday...I will get this hammer...because I am right-
THIS SUNDAY I WILL BRING THIS HAMMER DOWN ON KEVIN NASH; OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN...BECAUSE I AM RIGHT
This Sunday...all the lies...all the deception...It’s all done.
This Sunday, I, will show the world that I...am right, and Kevin Nash, you...
Are simply done. "
Was Triple H actually playing a paraody of himself here? How can professional writers think that this is a good monologue?

I don't really see anything wrong with it.

How can professional writers think that this is a good monologue? They probably don't. I'm sure HHH wrote it all on his own.

Well, maybe it would make some sort of logical sense if the feud had actually been about some sort of disagreement between the two.
Actually Kevin was just annoyed because Triple H gave him a legend contract when he thought he should still be in the WWE title picture.
We never even heard Triple H's view on the matter - he got taken out before any discourse could happen between the two.
Plus it doesn't help that Triple H starts the promo claiming it does not matter who is right - and then goes on to say (even though it doesn't matter) he is right...four times.

Eh, I didn't even notice how nonsensical it was. It was a droning Triple H promo. They all just sort of sound the same to me:
"This Sunday, I will blah blah blah because you blah blah blah. But blah blah destroy you because blah blah king of kings blah blah I am the game blah blah."

Still makes more sense than that one where he claimed to have beaten The Undertaker.

Yeah, it wasn't particularly good. A rare miss from HHH.
What was he supposed to be right about?

Still makes more sense than that one where he claimed to have beaten The Undertaker. That was actually the same promo. Wasn't a good night for The Game IMO.

Yeah, it wasn't particularly good. A rare miss from HHH. What was he supposed to be right about? I guess HHH's side was that Nash has been a liar and a backstabber all through their friendship. Where Nash's side is that HHH has chaaanged maaaan, he's totally not cool anymore. (Basically the same story TNA did with Hogan and "The Band").

I think this whole feud would work better for me if they didn't already have a HITC match 2003 based on Triple H smacking Nash with a sledgehammer.

The promo is indicative of the promos a lot of guys give in WWE, in that it sounds exceedingly scripted. If one of your best friends not just turned on you, but beat you senseless and put you out with an injury for over a month, you probably wouldn't be thinking about your opportunity for revenge in the manner of an extended, ham-fisted metaphor. You'd be seething and ready to pound his skull in.
That's what makes WWE so consistently frustrating. They over-write EVERYTHING, so nothing has a sense of genuine emotion or purpose. Look at the promos by guys like Miz and Cody Rhodes, who just ramble on and on and on with this painfully overwrought exposition that does absolutely nothing to build heat. It's like, everybody wants to be Mick Foley, but they don't have the skill or ability to imbue their storytelling with any genuine psychological nuance, so they just pile on the verbiage until it sounds like they're saying something "deep". What's scary is that Triple H is obviously an advocate for this kind of writing, so there's practically no chance that him gaining power in the company might bring about any change.
What's sad is that Johnny Ace is probably one of the most effective promos in the company right now, in that he comes across like what he is: a bland, middle-aged corporate drone. He plays his character more effectively than Miz putting on his "I'm sinister" face and talking real slowly, just so we know that he's super cereal this time, guys.

I found it funny that he randomly threw in and lied about "ending the streak". That whole promo was weird.

Alright, somethings really been bugging me with all this talk about that promo. How I took it, Triple H wasn't claiming to have beaten Undertaker. He was stating that, at the end of the night, Taker couldn't leave on his own two feet and he hasn't been seen since. The streak is over, in the sense that, Taker's done. Retired. Never gonna wrestle again at 'mania. Not that the streak is over as in 18-1, but that it has ended at 19-0 and will never grow past that. He never out and out said he pinned him or beat him or anything. He was basically saying that they beat each other up so bad that Taker will never wrestle again.

Yeah, it wasn't particularly good. A rare miss from HHH. What was he supposed to be right about? He was playing off of the old adage "might makes right". He was saying that there was nothing else to talk about. In other words, it didn't matter what Kevin Nash's problems were, whether legitimate or otherwise, if he couldn't beat Triple H at TLC, it was over.

Still its like the skinny fat ass thing he tried to do with CM Punk in that if you have to think about it too much then it doesn't work for the majority
