Or when you realized that they raised the bar too high?
At the time, I didn't think I could get sick or desensitized to the over the top violence, and thought everyone was crazy talking about toning things down.
I think I realized how desensitized I was a couple months after that Hardy vs. Undertaker match. I disliked it greatly and was astonished to find so many people praise it so much. Maybe because Hardy lost and yet everyone talks about how it made him or how the Undertaker put him over. Or maybe because it was on Raw and it wasn't the high flying spotfest I wanted out of one Hardy and No E&C.
After a while of screaming "what was so good about that match?" I had to take a look at myself and say "is it me? was I expecting too much?".
I haven't watched it again, but since it's so highly regarded, I'm guessing it was probably me.
Then the whole post Attitude 2002 - 2006 garbage happened and then I couldn't wait for PG. TNA levels of try too hard with Sex and Swearing. Funny since I loved the ECW PPV's since the raunchiness felt authentic.

A lot of Val Venis' sex jokes really flew over my head as a kid and I later realized what they all meant. Same with those videos of him in bed and a woman coming out from under the covers.

I realized when The Dudley Boyz powerbombing people (including women) through tables weren't a big deal anymore, and was kind of expected.

I never got burned out. WWE decided that for me. I think Wrestlemania 18 was when I first realized that we were never going to see the crazy stuff we used to. The biggest spot on that show was Jeff Hardy taking a relatively tame table bump. After the insanity of WM 17, I was a bit let down.

The first episode of Raw I watched after a few years of just barely paying attention to WWF was the night after Wrestlemania XIV, so right after Austin won the title.
I spent most of the 1998 flipping between Nitro and Raw, but I found that I wasn't really watching Raw much at all anymore by around Wrestlemania XV, so about a year.
I still checked it out, but I just wasn't getting any kind of a kick out of it. Part of that was probably because I was annoyed by the Rock (during the whole "spout catchphrases and almost nothing else" phase), but also it was just sensory overload, and things stopped being impressive pretty quickly.

yeah, around WM XV, shortly after that moreso, things could hardly get any more brutal, fast, hard-hitting, trivial, vulgar and edgy, so I kinda got sick of Russo's ADD booking
when Jericho, Tazz and the Radicalz came in (and when Russo left), things got way better, with a much better in-ring product and better storylines/angles

Well, I never got to the point where I couldn't appreciate a great match that didn't have any crazy spots in it, but I did get burned out on Russo's nonsensical ADD style booking in mid 1999. Things improved dramatically after he left though.
