You're all talking in the past tense. The modern day Submission Squad are pretty entertaining, and put on some really good matches in several promotions. Just because they stunk the place out one time doesn't mean they always do, otherwise why are places still booking them? As I've said before, you never get to make a 2nd first impression.

The Submission Squad weren't IN Chikara in 05. That 09 match IS the shit sandwich match everyone remembers, the infamous LWA showcase.

Christ this thread is never pleased by Chikara. I love the guy that swears he won't buy KOT because of one friggin team To be fair, it's been pretty lousy lately. A failing heel stable in GEKIDO, a really half-...rearended YLC, the Young Bucks as CDP, favorites like 3.0 and the Spectral Envoy being denied, Eddie, the top face, just drifting along, and so on.

Exactly. Hell, blind, stupid optimism is about the only thing keeping me on the ship right now. It HAS to get better again at some point, right? Chikara has to get faith in it's own roster back sometime, doesn't it? Then again, f*** it, by next month, ACH will have the YLC in Texas for a year, and joshi team #2 will somehow be Kings of Trios.

That 09 match IS the s*** sandwich match everyone remembers, the infamous LWA showcase. Alright, my mistake. It's still been 3 years though and people deserve 2nd chances. They stink it up again and people want to hate fine but people shitting on Chikara for giving them another chance when by most accounts they've improved greatly between then and now is beyond me when they are bringing freaking Aldo Montoya for his 456th chance and just 3 months or so since he was too f***ed up to even walk into a building for Shane Douglas of all people but that exciting. Wresting and life in general is built on improving over time and getting second chances but people are acting like Quack should be tarred and feathered, Chikara should be shut down and it's not just for that but for daring to try anything different. I get people may not like certain aspects of what they are trying but they aren't even giving things a first or second chance and are turning off the company as a whole. Last year they brought in Sean Waltman and people lost their shit about Chikara bringing him in, complaining about Quack's 90s love and then he had the best match of the KOT by most accounts. I am not saying Submission Squad could do that but who is to say they cannot come in be a solid team that Chikara could use again soon? By the way people are acting they shouldn't be allowed near anything Chikara branded and unless they put on some 8million star match they weren't worth a 2nd look.

And...maybe, just maybe these guys are in on the joke. Like "Yeah, we know we had one of the worst matches ever 3 years ago. Let's bank on that!" The heat for these guys is going to be NUCLEAR! Imagine the reaction they'll get and whomever actually goes out of their way to defeat them. Because whoever beats them will be loved from here to eternity for getting rid of them.
It's not like their going to win the f***ing thing. Yet, here you guys are, getting ready like the apocalypse is coming.
Calmeth the f***eth down.

And they will lose. In the finals, just to draw the hatred out more.

I disagree this year has been superb. Eddies title reign, guys like Dasher and Touchdown coming into their own, a new stable, 17, new talent, great matches, I could go on but in posting from a phone

I disagree this year has been superb. Eddies title reign, guys like Dasher and Touchdown coming into their own, a new stable, 17, new talent, great matches, I could go on but in posting from a phone Eddie is a fantastic talent, but his title reign has been DULL, specifically because he's had not one feud, and because there's not a single person I buy as a threat to him, on or off the roster. Even when Kevin Steen came in, I knew he didn't stand a chance against King, who's been booked like a tank. Touchdown I won't argue with, but....what has Dasher done, exactly this season? GEKIDO has been tepid at best, and really, with the way the babyfaces(especially Green Ant and Jigsaw) have been acting, they come off more sympathetic than the tecnicos. And new talent? Who? Touchdown and Saturyne(who is also dull) aside, who's come out of the Wrestlefactory lately? Tianlong?

For Eddie, his reign is just like, Kevin Steen walks up, "Hey, I want a title shot", *DQ'd*, then Dasher Hatfield walks up, "Hey, I want a title shot", *Backfisted*, then Jigsaw, then SDR, and so on and so forth. Him anti-climatically curb-stomping Ophidian and 17 wasn't great, either.
And for GEKIDO, I was really excited when they first showed up...then it became apparent they were strawmen for Quack to lash out against Tuck Hanson-types who decry his school, then just get jobbed out again and again.

It would be nice to have some sort of something to make the Grand Championship more interesting. For one, I almost had a heart attack when I saw one of the Bravados against Eddie, until I saw it was non-title. (And why is he having singles non-title matches anyway?) It looks really bad when people in the company are pointing out how bad the contender selection process is.
