You guys gave away your tastes too easily. I have a good idea what will score good and what won't now based on the 45 artists list.

Trust me when I say all of our lists are mixed from all genres.

Come on, so what if it was predictable.... I had no other Nirvana songs, at least ones that are tolerable.

Actually half of the artists I chose I did just because I'd like to see what you guys could come up with for them. LoL. And just because you choose our artist doesn't mean well pick your song lol

"for Emma" - Bon Iver This one just doesn't stick with me. Sounds nice while it's on, but it's out of my head five minutes later.
"Melodies Of Life" - Emiko Shiratori Even if I didn't know this was Final Fantasy music, I'd bet money that this was a fairly-literal English transation of a Japanese song. A lot of them have a similar sound, and it's not one I enjoy.
"Hear My Train a Comin'" - Jimi Hendrix The man has such a commanding presence when he has a guitar in his hand.
"Come As You Are" - Nirvana A great song. The only thing I can really say negatively about this pick is that you just knew it was coming.
"Smash" - The Offspring I like the fact that it wasn't their most expected work. I also like the fact that this song is great.
"Good Time" - Owl City & Carl-ly Ray-be Jepsen It's an completely okay, completely inoffensive piece of pop. Both of these artists had better choices available though.
"Such Great Heights" - The Postal Service Before this song, I knew my review would either be "The Postal Service delivers" or "It must be Sunday, because The Postal Service didn't deliver." It's the former. Sounds like an even more upbeat Owl City, if that's even possible.
"Purity Ring" - Lofticries This one, you either love or you hate. Unfortunately, I don't love it.
"Now You're A Hero" - Reachground The only way this is any good is if you've played You Have To Burn The Rope. Even then, it's a stretch to call it decent.
"The Only Living Boy in New York" - Simon and Garfunkel Sometimes I love S&G, and sometimes I'm cool on them. This one makes me a little cool on them.
"Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)" - Shinedown I like it. Don't love it, but I like it a lot.
"Maybe Tomorrow" - Stereophonics I like this one. It's a funky little diddy.
"Blue Orchid" - The White Stripes If it's a White Stripes song, you know it's gonna be catchy. And man, is this catchy.
Hear My Train a Comin' - Jimi Hendrix Come As You Are - Nirvana Such Great Heights - The Postal Service Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom) - Shinedown Blue Orchid - The White Stripes Maybe Tomorrow - Stereophonics Smash - The Offspring The Only Living Boy in New York - Simon and Gargunkel Good Time - Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen for Emma - Bon Iver Now You're A Hero - Reachground Melodies of Life - Emiko Shiratori Purity Ring - Lofticries

Pick sent. I liked the idea of a middling pool of artists to pick from; I had a pick but changed it, figuring I could use that for a more specific genre or narrower range of songs if that challenge should arise. The idea of a mentor certainly adds another dimension to the game as well.

How come I ended up 8th when I was in every judge's top 6? Lodi put you in last. Thus, the 1 that was part of your scores. Might be a little confusing because he hasn't posted his rankings yet while Cageking listed his twice.

Because I'm an idiot. But really, when I first listened to it, I don't know, maybe it was because it was late at night and I had other things on my mind. But I didn't really like the song. I saw the rankings from the other judges, and I took another listen, and now I want to go back in time and slap myself in the face. I was thinking, "Oh shit. I just screwed someone." It wasn't a bold move on my part looking back on it now. This round I've really got to focus on these songs and make sure I don't make another mistake like this.

Jokes on you, I've listened to the song so many times, I've forced my mind to like the song.

It's not that bad of a song if you only listen to it once or twice but I can see how it would get annoying after a while.

I figure that, by the end of this, we'll all be guilty of choosing some embarrassing ass songs ;D

Don't give them any ideas Gus. While we're at it, I nominate an International Round.
