Also, this is going to sound a little strange, but does anybody else get a situation where guys suddenly become a lot more over? I've had 5 or so guys (Gabriel, Hunico, Bourne, Regal, & Sin Cara) go from anywhere in the 70's to the low-mid 80's in overness by practically doing nothing. I may have put them in a match or two, but that's about it.

I think that usually happens when they have really high charisma. Normally that would make sense, but some of those guys don't really have the greatest charisma. Did those matches have a 90% match quality or higher? Putting on amazing matches causes a worker's overness to skyrocket. That's probably it. Usually I try to match up guys that have similar stats, so the overall quality increases.

If you have guys already in their 70s and they are putting on great matches then they will shoot up wicked quickly. If you want to make them shoot up even faster put the guys with good charimsa in interview segments and that will also help them shoot up very quickly.

That's one of my pet peeves about EWR. For instance, if I were running a WCW scenario, I guarantee you that most of the cruiserweights would be 90+ over after a few months based on just matches alone. It's way too easy and it bugs me sometimes.

It makes it way too easy for guys to get 80+ overness.

It's way too easy and it bugs me sometimes. I'm currently dealing with this, in a WCW scenario. I've got a bloated WCW roster, and half the guys on it are 80+. Including such legendary WCW stars as EZ Money, Hector Garza, Simon Diamond, Charlie & Russ Haas, and Air Paris.

I'm in my second year of the NWA rebirth game I started a while ago. S'going well. I tried to limit myself in who I had at the start. I took a couple really big names (Jericho, AJ, Jeff Hardy, Christian - guys I could justify taking to myself) along with some classic NWA guys (Sting, Ric Flair as president, Double A as road agent, people like that). My first world champion was Johnny Monroe, a heel who feuded with the likes of Christian Cage, Sting, Jeff Hardy, before finally losing to AJ after about 9 months. AJ's reign was shorter, with him feuding with the undefeated Samoa Joe for the most part. At Legends (my biggest show), AJ was the guy who beat Joe but lost the title right after to Chris Jericho, who used his name value and the fact his contract was coming up to blackmail Flair into a title shot that night. Now Jericho holds the title and is defending against Randy Orton (signed fairly recently).
Other big deals in my promotion are the rise of Jon Moxley (signed pre-Shield). He began by tagging with Tommy Dreamer as a babyface. They were always on the brink of taking the tag titles (from London and Kendrick - the Hooliganz), but never quite took them. When the Hooliganz finally lost the tag belts to the Hardys, Moxley snapped, destroying Dreamer and putting him out of the company. Now he's a big time heel, not challenging for titles, but has feuded with the likes of Jeff Hardy, Chris Hero, and James Storm, doing a "Harsh Truths" gimmick. He's pretty violent and will be huge in the coming years.
The other guy I'm focusing on right now, and the reason I'm posting, is Ted DiBiase, Jr. I challenged myself to make him a big deal from the get-go, and started by teaming him with Johnny Monroe as the Montourage - the deal being that Teddy was associating himself with people who would benefit him. He had a few big feuds - Sting, Christian, Mick Foley, James Storm - and established himself as the biggest douchebag in pro wrestling and specialising in the Dog Collar match. He tends to come up short in his big feuds. His biggest feud has been with Johnny Monroe, after Monroe's girlfriend, Melina Perez, aligned herself with DiBiase. This came to a head when DiBiase, feuding with Joe, took his eye off the ball and allowed Melina to get (accidentally) clobbered by Joe. Monroe came rushing to her aid and unleashed hell on DiBiase for allowing this, and Melina has seen the error of her ways and his babyface again, too.
Anyway, what this is coming to is what's next for DiBiase. I want him to start a Freebirds/Wolfpac kind of group, with their outlook being "We're in this for the big money, and we'll do whatever the hell we need to to get the wins." But what I'm struggling with is who to put in there with him. I want three guys, but two would work. I'm also babyface-heavy at the moment so ideally would like at least one guy to have to turn to join. So, the candidates are:
James Storm - had a big feud with DiBiase over the North American title, ending with a Dog Collar match. Pretty brutal feud, but they'd have a lot of respect for each other after it. Storm is also in need of a jumpstart. He's babyface, and just barely, BARELY, failed in his attempt to take the title from Jericho. Problem is that I like Storm as an anti-authority babyface in the SCSA mold, and I want him to be a big babyface player in future.
Randy Orton - relatively new. Challenging Jericho for the world title at the moment, but I'm not having him go over. He's also feuded with DiBiase (hey, it wrote itself) and came out on top. Obviously they have history, Orton is a proven commodity, and I'm not sure what to do with him post-Jericho. No real problem here, except I dunno how well he'll fit and it's a bit obvious.
Jon Moxley - Already heel and on a big wave of momentum. Currently feuding with Storm (Moxley claims that a REAL "Cowboy" wouldn't have let Jericho escape, and would get the job done...it's cooler than it sounds). Like DiBiase, I'm happy with him being a career heel. Difficulty here is that I don't know how well Moxley would fit. He doesn't seem like a guy who needs friends.
Outsider candidates include Brian Kendrick (probably fit, but he's teaming with Paul London and I don't want both), Kevin Nash (a good fit, and a good guy to float the original idea to DiBiase, but he's a non-wrestler now), Matt Morgan (not sure he's strong enough as a character), and Elijah (Burke, that is. A good fit but not over enough).
Anyone wanna share their thoughts? I'd sure appreciate it.

I actually did an NWA Rebirth promotion game for my last game, but it only lasted one show since I think my EWR data is buggy now and need to download an updated roster.

Any thoughts on who I should have join the group? The game was originally a TEW2010 game which I painstakingly, stat-by-stat, put into TEW2013. I really want to do a diary with it but so much game time has passed that just catching up would take forever. I would highly recommend getting at least TEW2005, which is free now, or drop the $35 and get '13. It's more time consuming but...well, if you're anything like me, the detail really gets the imagination going. Or, if you're enjoying EWR fine, ewbattleground is a great source for real world updates for all games in the series. And if your EWR data is buggy or corrupted, it's likely because you gave EWR a ctrl alt del while it was loading. If you start again and just don't touch it during startup (might take a long while), it'll be fine.

He fits the NWA style, seems to be a decent fit with Ted (at least in my head), and is believable in the role of doing whatever it takes to win matches and make money.

If you start again and just don't touch it during startup (might take a long while), it'll be fine. Thanks for the TEW info. I knew all the EWR stuff already since I'm an EWR fanatic, but am working off of a laptop now and am waiting to set up my desktop before I start a new game (I'm in the process of moving now). I've been tempted to download (or just buy) TEW for a while, but am afraid I'd get too addicted haha. I still pro probably will though at some point. As for your stable have you given any thoughts to these guys: Cody Rhodes: Since you already are thinking about having DiBiase recruit Orton perhaps a Legacy retread could be interesting with a twist. I'd say have Orton turn heel and have him be heel for a while before joining with DiBiase and Rhodes then almost immediately DiBiase and Rhodes turn on him. Instead of doing a lame Evolution-esque face turn perhaps you could have Orton disappear for a while before bringing him back for some kind of redemption story where he finds himself before taking on the heel stable. Christian Cage: Since you mentioned you already have him on the roster and said he feuded with heels I would assume he is still a face. He could work as the cagey veteran of the group. He could cut a promo to turn where he talks about how him and Jericho came from the same place and were equals, but Jericho was able to blackmail his way to a title shot whereas Christian never did something so heinous and instead his hardwork went unrewarded. Likewise he could talk about how guys who never even made it to the big show (WWE) like AJ and Samoa Joe were favored over him while he was passed over. Jonathan Gresham: I don't know if you're familiar with him or not, but he is a GREAT young technical wrestler. If you're familiar with DiBiase's pre-WWE work then you know that he can put on fairly good technical matches as well. Perhaps you could give the stable a slight condescending "best technical wrestlers in the world" gimmick. Moxley could then still work in the group as the guy who doesn't really fit, but works as a hardcore enforcer type.

I basically lost all my 2003 game info, which is ok because I was losing interest in that scenario anyways
Can someone help me find the stats or files or whatever where I can do a game with either WWE's current roster, or a WCW/ECW game with roster from the late 90's? or hell even a WWF 2000/2001 game

I'm a big fan of dysfunctional tag teams, I always try and create a couple and try to mine as much comedy from them as possible. I think I've peaked with the level of ridiculousness this time. Alberto del Rio wanted some backup, a lackey/tag team partner that was more competent than Ricardo, so he got one from a mail order luchador catalogue. Unfortunately he was too cheap to pay for any of the top of the line models and received one made in Canada - El Generico. Alberto is dissatisfied with his purchase but there are no returns, and he begins to warm to his new partner when they start winning tag matches.

I was playing EWR a bit last summer and had some fun. Recently purchased a Mac and wondering if there are any versions off this or TEW for it?

Started my own custom small fed that started (in-game) in April 2008. I'm now in February 2010 and the company is now a regional sized company and slowly making its way to being a Cult sized fed. I now have FOUR people in rehab, one of them being my commissioner. This freaking game...
