Sad to lose Clark, such a legend and an essential part of television history. Broke my heart to tell my mom, she actually danced on Bandstand back in the late 50s.
For me, I'll always remember Clark best for TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes.

For all the jokes over the years about how long he's been around, 82 seems young. RIP.

A sad day indeed. For me, he'll always be one of two things: Either the host of the Pyramid game shows or the man who brought in the New Year. RIP to, pop culture wise, an American icon.

So sad RIP. My fave memory of him was years ago, when he was on Oprah. They were talking about the NYE shows. Oprah stated how every NYE, she liked to "turn Dick on"...and then immediately realized how bad that sounded and died laughing. Dick just kinda sat there, chuckling.

We need to remember the good times with him. Thanks for posting those. What's scary is he was working in television long enough to KNOW when those cars were new.

Damn sad, but 82 is one hell of a life especially considering the career he had.
I'll always remember him as the man that brought in the new year, RIP Mr. Clark - you will be missed.

Such a sad day but he did have an illness. I have a feeling that was the cause. Anyway, may he rest in peace. Also, I am definitely looking forward to New Years for next year to see if there will be a tribute to him. I know there will be one for him since he had been at it for decades.
Also, it will be hard for me to laugh about Dick Clark being the devil in The Waterboy.

New Years will never be the same again. R.I.P. to a TV legend.

New Years will never be the same again. R.I.P. to a TV legend. True, but to be fair, I think Seacrest is Dick's ideal successor. Idol is synomynous with pop culture in the same vein that Bandstand was, and their public personas are identical.

For some reason, I thought he was older than that. Actually, I thought he was still in his late 70s when he passed. Still, a truly sad day. Loved his work on the "Pyramid" shows back in the 80s, and I saw them when I was young when USA did it's "Game Show Block" every weekday in the mid 90s. RIP.
