2 things:
1.When did the lunch line become a "Learning environment"? 2. When did looking up a girl's skirt become sexual harassment? It wasn't in my day let me tell ya

One of the biggest reasons I'm glad I'm not a parent. I would lose my damn mind trying to deal with a school system and all their BS.

I love how this song popped up on Pandora right after I read the title of the thread.
Anyways: this is ridiculous.

Lot of jokes here but no one wants to look at it seriously. I see it as society and culture further and further eroding and values and morals are declining. Now everything is more sexualized than it was 20 or 30 or more years ago and I wonder how much worse it will get. It seems there was more balance back than and now everything is sex sex sex. Not a good time to be bringing children into this world if you ask me.

On the one hand I think this is stupid, and we need to quit walking on eggshells, we're trying to make a society safe for 4 year olds and it's not realistic. On the other hand I do like how things were more reserved years ago, but it's not going back to that. this wouldn't offend me as a parent though.

This wasn't the first time, he did it. So I understand the suspension.

Someone should call child services on the parent for letting the kid listen to LMFAO.
But seriously, the kid is a repeat offender, and if there's anything I've learned from all the times I've had to take sexual harrassment courses, it's not the intent, it's the effect. If the girl felt uncomfortable, or anyone around her for that matter, it's sexual harrassment regardless of whether the boy was just messing around. Schools are on defense now, because people lawyer up way too much, so they have to carry out suspensions for things like this, otherwise they risk being liable. It's crap, but it's the way things are today. The courts have taken away the schools' ability to police the children's behavior, so all they're left with is suspension, and that means disrupting the parents' work schedule.

They shouldn't even bring this to court. We might be surprised at what all we can still get away with these days if we carry on like it isn't a big deal, and this isn't. It shouldn't be posted all over the internet anyway.

Those six little words from the Los Angeles rap-influenced duo earned first-grader D'Avonte Meadows a three day dismissal from Sable Elementary in Aurora, Colo. Of all the schools you'd think they'd be ready for the grind.

He repeatedly sang the song to this girl, shook his ass in her face, and only now does his mother think she should talk about what the song means? And she's surprised that her kid putting his ass in someone's else face is sexual harassment?
She's out here, trying to get the sympy of the people, but she don't get my sympy at all.

For a second, I thought this was that tired, cliched song from the 1980s. If that was the case, then the kid most certainly deserved to have been suspended.

But schools can't afford to think like that anymore, because the second you treat it like it's not a big deal, some jack wagon with a lawyer takes you to court over it.

Oh for goodness sake.
If he was annoying the girl, fine, he gets told off and kept away from her. He gets a chat from his parents and the school guidance people. He doesn't get suspended, at age 6/7 for 'sexual harassment'
Some people are simply pathetic.
Edit: Being that this is in Colorado, it makes me really sad that South Park is on hiatus. Butters would totally get suspended this week if not.....

Deserves it for singing a shit song.
If he sang 'smack my bitch up' to her or something I'd let him off but LMFAO? f*** off.

I think it's one of three things. He likes her, he's goofing around or he's just being a brat, which I can relate to formerly being a 6 or 7year old boy. I don't think the kid gets the sexual tones of the song, as to him, it's just a song. I can see suspending him though if he's harassing her and it's been consistent. So really, the suspension is more then just the song, it's him bugging this girl. I wouldn't call it sexual harassment at all as the kid is way too young to get that. This. Calling it sexual harassment is superfluous and unnecessary. School board better get ready for the s*** storm coming their way.

Not a good time to be bringing children into this world if you ask me. {Spoiler}Popular songs from 1992: Shabba Ranks - Mr. Loverman Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy Wreckx-N-Effect - Rump Shaker Sir Mix-A-Lot - Baby Got Back
As for the 80s, Prince and Madonna say hello. "Sexual harassment," they say? Nope, sounds pretty stupid to me. Much more variety back then than there is now in terms of what is popular. Nowadays it seems its much harder to find a popular song that is clean. Back than maybe a handful of somewhat explict popular songs now its more common.
