This whole feud was Trips getting attacked from behind and getting his arm broken. Trips healing. Trips calling Brock a coward for a month or so with a dash of Paul Heyman being awesome but ignored in recaps. Brock Lesnar's big return ends with Triple H clashing with him in the middle of the ring and winning the encounter by knocking him out of the ring. Then Brock continuously leaves the ring instead of confronting Triple H. This is supposed to build the "At Summerslam, it's on" but comes off more of "I'll get you next time, Gadget!" Then tonight...he acts tough, but then signs his contract and leaves. Then, he has to attack Shawn Michaels from behind, breaks Shawn's arm...and immediately flees because he for some reason suddenly cares about contracts and Sunday. Like someone said, it's the little things, and they all just kind of irk me. I've used my "Brock Lesnar is a dragon" analogy before and, again, Trips is supposed to be the famed knight that everyone loves and respects for his famous battles...who the dragon is supposed to destroy with a single flame to establish his monster status. Right now, the WWE has had the famed knight poke the dragon in the eye multiple times and I just don't like it and no amount of "Oh, you just hate Triple H! That's all!" is going to change that. But again, this is what Brock has always been. He's a jerk, he's a douche, he is the world's most dangerous prick. He was that as a heel in WWE the first time and in UFC. He's also got Heyman there directing him and telling him not to touch Triple H until Summerslam, shouting that during the contract signing and then holding him back at the end. The Brock we're seeing is the exact same Brock that showed up in 2003 and has been around the last near decade. People are acting like Trips already won the Summerslam match via Fingerpoke which is the most ridiculous part of this. I can understand that Brock is being Past Brock and I am more than willing to admit that I put way too much trust in the WWE writers to actually live up to expectations of Brock Lesnar's return. They've bungled it the entire way as I should've expected. Lower expectations lead to less disappointment. Right now, I was pumped about this...and thus my disappointment is huge. It's very bizarre that a "Special Attraction" is being treated the same as he was back in 2002 (When they weren't paying him $5 mil). I'll stick to my dragon analogy. He returns and it's a HUGE deal because a force unlike anything ever seen has returned and its first action is to take the face of the company and fling him newspaper onto a porch. The entire Cena feud was Cena being freaking terrified of him. When Lesnar was in the ring, Cena was showing intimidation. Then the match who Cena is straight up murdered for the majority and then flukes out a win. In my dragon analogy, it's the same as the hero who manages to trap the dragon in a cave by rolling a giant boulder in front of it. Anyway, since then, he's been regressing to Pre-Return Lesnar. The guy we expect. The guy we know. The guy who isn't really worthy of "Special Attraction" attention. He's literally transformed into who he was before he left and before then...he was just another guy. And yes, I can see the irritation in the frustration towards the upcoming match, but it's just jitters from people used to Triple H's storied history of matches that have irked fans. There may be bias towards Trips but it's not as if he hasn't earned any of it. Personally, as I've said, I want it to be competitive early and then go full on Brock/Cena but with Brock pinning a bloodied, destroyed Trips. It's their chance to take Summerslam and use it to step towards Wrestlemania. But I'm going to stop worrying about it. If they want to spend $5 mil to make Lesnar who he used to be...good on them. Just don't expect me to buy a PPV with him on it like he's a big deal.

Honestly, if this feud didn't have HHH as the babyface in it, I don't think it would be getting as much hate here as it's been getting.

Even they aren't that stupid....I think. Pity. I was ready to snark all over them putting the "~ENTERTAINMENT~" tag after a tense segment.

It does a bigger disservice to try and convince people that they guy they saw in UFC just a some months prior is now big, bad, and cannot be stopped. Plus it does no good for him to bowl over the top guys in the company until next year. When he went to face Cena, he was facing a broken down man that had just failed and didn't know if he could still go and that Brock had destroyed years before. Now he's got a guy who isn't afraid of him and has stood against the toughest man in WWE history on the biggest stage in the most dangerous match WWE has without showing fear. Those are two entirely different situations.

WWE has ignored many a thing to get to what they want. I'm more than willing to suspend my disbelief if the story is told well, which, leading up to the initial Cena match was what they did with Brock (even that debacle of a contract thing with Johnny Ace, which was them not having Brock play to his strength of...anything that isn't talking).
I can understand different situations. I just don't personally enjoy the different situation they've presented.
I'm fine with Trips being the brave guy. The one with no fear. The one willing to go to battle. I just wish that they went with a less-physical approach building to a match where Brock could rock him to lead to some Wrestlemania hype.
I personally feel that Trips has had too many moments of triumphs compared to Brock's. Brock constantly walking away after their Raw 1000 battle was a dull set-up and seeing it one more time at the contract signing before his scurrying away at the very end was just not fun to me.

What I don't get is, people hate on Hunter, even though there's a mountain of evidence that Lesnar's a massive toolbox.
Personally, nothing would make me happier than watching Lesnar lose every single week until his contract is up, because he makes it clear he's a jerk.
But people seem so bloodthirsty for Lesnar to cripple and humiliate Trips because...."Triple H berriez people get big nose off my TV"
Siding with Lesnar in anyway seems like rooting for Biff Tannen.
And screw Biff Tannen.

The fact that I want to see Brock get beat like a government mule due to him injuring HBK tonight means that it's working. They've got me invested for SummerSlam.

During Raw last night, I suddenly missed Bobby Heenan when they were talking about Pauly D being the social ambassador. I pictured a conversation like:
Cole: Tonight our special social ambassador is Pauly D!
Heenan: Pauly D is going to be part of Raw?
Cole: Yes.
Heenan: Wow! That's huge! The woman who cooks with all the butter is going to be tweeting all night about Raw? This is great.
