Hearing him say that comic books are for kids makes me wonder how many years it's been since he's actually picked up a comic book himself. Well, that was one of the points of the New 52 relaunch, to get new readers who were on the younger side as part of growing the readership. *re-reads first issues of Catwoman and Red Hood & the Outlaws* you sure about that? ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) as for David's thoughts, he's entitled to his opinion, he's a favorite director of mine, but I disagree with him big time. especially when while his movies may not have guys running around in capes, they have far more absurd things like a man's head exploding and (spoilered for gross) {Spoiler}James Woods sprouting a vagina in his stomach and f***ing himself with a gun so him complaining about a guy wearing a cape being silly seems a tad hypocritical.

Never understood the "if its for kids, it has no artistic value" argument. I have a lot more sympy for a simple character who's ultimately likeable than a depressing complex character that you wouldn't want to spend more than 5 minutes with.

I would like to see how Cronenburg would've portrayed Bane, given his penchant for strange technology/body interaction.

Well, David Cronenberg knows a thing or two about pretentious trash, given that he's responsible for such a great deal of it. Like what? ![](http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_igkvmv-E4YU/S-LgqltMqQI/AAAAAAAAGEo/bd_61aiPquk/s1600/crash_ver2.jpg)

I too think these Nolan Batman films are amusingly overpraised, they just don't carry the intellectual heft of Jason X.

![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) I liked Crash as a book. Wanted to see the movie but I'm not so eager to now.

Cronenberg is directing a movie with Robert Pattinson in it. His opinion is therefore invalid. Turns out Pattinsons a pretty decent actor. I normally respect other people's opinions, but in this case, Pattinson is awful. He's got where he is because he managed to star in a franchise portraying him as a doe eyed heartthrob. He's not a good actor, he marketable because of Twilight.

It's more of exposing certain actors showing that they can't rise above a director and put in a great performance. Portman is a decent actress, a good one if she has a great director (Aronofsky). Nobody in the Twilight movies is anything special really, because they just sound so bland even delivering the dialogue, but Stewart has shown she can be good with the right director so I'm sure Pattinson could too Either way, the only two guys that are established good actors (Neeson, McGregor) delivered in the Star Wars prequels. Just saying. I too think these Nolan Batman films are amusingly overpraised, they just don't carry the intellectual heft of Jason X. What?

David Cronenberg had a cameo in Jason X, hence the joke.

From the CM Punk/AW thread in WWE Current: When people passingly make a comment in an interview, it can't be taken so strongly when the person being interviewed was basically just responding to a question. I know I've said some stuff to people when I didn't know what else to say.

Just saying. LOL No they didn't. Neeson was awful, and outside of a spot on Alec Guiness impression, McGregor wasn't anything to write home about either. There isn't anything resembling a good performance in any of those movies.

I know I've said some stuff to people when I didn't know what else to say. And that's a very good point. Being interviewed means you're going to be put on the spot for questions, so you're not always saying things the way you best mean to say them. Hence, he probably meant to differentiate between superhero stories and comic books in general, but it doesn't come off that way.
