What are the most trailers that aired before a film? I went to see Expendables 2 over the weekend and had to sit through NINE trailers, including that cheesy looking man with the iron fists movie, and inexplicably, Frankenweenie (why would disney advertise THAT movie in front of an R-rated action film?). It got ridiculous after a while, its a good thing Expendables 2 was worth it.

When I saw The Expendables 2, I was like "When will the trailers end?" Same with when I saw The Amazing Spider-Man.

Expendables 2 had a good 8 or so, and this was after a 40 minute projector delay.

They usually show three trailers and the rest are ads. About 20 minutes of ads. They always open with those terrible local commercials (you know the ads that cost about $3.50 per screening) that are usually for some local mobile phone shop.

It bothers me to no ends when they air commercials that have nothing to do with anything movie related.
I just paid 10$ for a ticket, and another 10 on concessions - you'd think they were done screwing me up the wazoo with sales related bullshit.
As far as previews are concerned, I'm happy with as few as possible - but it has nothing to do with a time constraint and more because I generally don't like previews. They show everything nowadays. It got to the point that I actually wouldn't walk into a theatre 15 minutes after it started so that I wouldn't be subjected to anything on the Dark Knight Rises. Wanted every scene to be fresh, new and exciting.
