Yeah. As much as I want to believe they're actually going to ban the TRT garbage, there's too many profitable guys that allegedly use the stuff to make me think they're going to make a real effort to stop it.

Rory MacDonald is injured and out of his UFC 158 Fight against Carlos Condit. Carlos will now face Johny Hendricks. Hendricks' original opponent Jake Ellenberger will get a replacement opponent.

There are talks about Tyrone Woodley being Jake Ellenberger's new opponent at UFC 158.

Apparently Tarec Saffiedine turned down the bout with Condit, not a good way to start off your post-Strikeforce relationship with Uncle Dana! Condit vs. Hendricks is a good fight, I like it more than the fights they were both in before.

Condit vs. Hendricks is a good fight but now I'm pissed because there's a good chance Hendricks is losing his title shot.

Would a win by Hendricks guarantee him a title shot? Dude has been in line for a while and they haven't given it to him.
I'd have to think so, who else is there?

Yes, he should have gotten the fight that Diaz got, but whatever. The only way I could see him getting passed again is if Maia keeps crushing dudes and Hendricks gets hurt.

That doesn't make any sense considering Rousey is on 157... and flaky Nick Diaz is so easy to predict it's incredible. If he's off the card again (highly unlikely at this point) move Hendricks v. GSP and probably Maia v. Condit.

I read that wrong. Actually, the UFC decided to use their Primetime special(their version of HBO 24/7) for the Rousey fight because they initially wanted to do it for the Diaz/St Pierre fight but Diaz apparently didn't want to do it.
My post made it sound like they replaced the hype for 158's own regular countdown special for 157's main event. It was just for the semi-regular Primetime special. Sorry about that.

It has been reported that 16 fighters, including Jon Fitch, Paul Sass and Jacob Volkman, have been released by the UFC.

Holy crap can't believe Fitch got the boot. It was no secret that Dana didn't like him but goddamn he got a raw deal. Guess they're making room for the Strikeforce and the WMMA fighters.

Hopefully they don't take on too many Strikeforce guys. They need fewer fighters, it's getting harder and harder to give guys 3 fights a year.

I think Fitch's incredibly boring style, poor charisma and lopsided losses recently all contributed to him getting the axe. He could be a big signing for Bellator though and it be great to see a company begin to build a bit more star power.

God though, as much as I love Ben Askren, a Fitch/Askren fight could set the sport back to the Severn/Shamrock days...

I feel bad for Fitch. 15-3-1 career in the UFC and is now released. Just goes to show how much the UFC is disinterested in point fighters. I would be treading very carefully, Clay Guida.
