ok, so line of the night?
- Kevin Kelly: "Kevin Steen, you son of a bitch!" - Nigel McGuinness: "For the love of God, cover your head!" - Kevin Steen: "Merry Christmas, bitch!"

Great show on the whole but it kinda went off a cliff with the last two matches. The tag match had a really weird dynamic that kinda took put me off and didn't let me fully enjoy the match and those unprotected chair shots to the head were bullshit. Then, the main event, while not bad by any means, went way, way, WAY too long. Honestly, I can't help but feel that this show would have been better if it was just 3 hours long.

ok, so line of the night? Steen: "Nigel, where you been man?" He said something to that effect and I chuckled quite heartily.

In the immortal words of Jim Cornette, they followed a shooting with a stabbing. They had two matches where guys were murdering people, chairshots to the head like crazy (which I'm thinking of writing a FAN article about this week), guys kicking out of stupid things, and then the main event happens, and nobody cares at the false finishes.
Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25 got a Holy Shit chant from a kick out. Here, kick outs in the main event got golf claps.

Seriously, I'm delighted they're getting to Steen now. They only just sacrificed the main event of their biggest show of the year to get there.

Also, for those of you that care, according to the F4Wonline Report, the Richards V. Edwards went 41 MINUTES!

After reading a play-by-play on another site, I can say that this one sounded even worse than BITW. Nothing these two guys do makes sense. Once you blow through that many near-falls, the actual finish will be anti-climactic by default. 41 minutes of these two morons sounds like a f***ing nightmare.

On a show that was already going on 4 hours, I was hoping that the match would be relatively short. But, of course it wasn't and by the end, it seriously felt like the match was 2 hours long instead of 41 minutes. So yeah, this match was worse than the one that they had at BITW, just due to the simple fact the crowd was completely burnt out and didn't react to much of the match.

well the problem with the near falls wasn't that they were doing them, its that they'd have a stand off, trade a bunch of shots, one would hit a big move, pause for 5-10 seconds and then cover them, and then they would kick out at 2 1/2

are you sure he's talking about Davey/Edwards and not Steen vs. Corino and/or Briscoes vs. WGTT

Cause he posted that an hour ago, and he's aware of this kind of burnout from experience. Remember his draw against Tyler Black a couple years ago after a near 4-hour show? Least this show didn't have a blizzard in the area.

Despite the complaints about the Main, this show seems like a must buy for me when it hits DVD.
And, though I haven't seen the match, I will say this: I'm a huge fan of Davey and Eddie. But I can see where their critics are coming from. But, one thing I love about watching them is that they are machines, and they always bust out moves that I want to learn. And I guess they can also show me how NOT to plan out a match.
I hope that makes sense.

If you are ever main eventing on a show that is already 4 hours long and has featured several "HOLY SHIT!" moments, please don't decide to have a 41 minute match in which you and your opponent literally kick out of everything ever.

That's exactly what I mean. Which is why I'm glad my trainer Emphasizes storytelling and working the crowd over just teaching us move after move after move, but still know how to do most of those crazy strong style and submission moves.
