Stunfisk. Seriously, someone made this and thought it would be a memorable Pokémon.

Geodude and Mankey from Red. Also, I hated the Charizard sprite...he looked retarded.

A lot of the original ones, admittedly. Nowadays, they look fine, but man, those Red/Green ones...

I was just looking at the one from Green/Red...and the design quality reminds me a lot of the ones we would get from Yellow. Did someone else do the ones from Red/Blue? They look entirely like someone else designed them.

They look entirely like someone else designed them. They got some complaints because the sprites didn't look like the cartoon counterparts so a few of them got changed

Bulbasuar from behind. I would never use pokemon that looked like crap from the back and he was by far the worst offender x

the orginal gams have their own weirdo/creepy charm to them. And this April Fool's demake of Black and White on the Game Boy looks kinda cool.

From Pokémon Silver: "Its DNA is said to contain the genetic codes of all Pokémon, so it can use all kinds of techniques." And from the Japanese Pokémon Red & Green: Mew's not so much a kitten, but an embryo. And I think I read somewhere that Mewtwo was originally a reference to Dolly the cloned sheep, but the creators thought that may be too controversial a subject to tackle, so they didn't draw too much attention to it. Again, Mewtwo's not so much a feline as it is a sheep. Those protrusions on it's head may not be cat ears so much as they're sheep horns.
