I feel like we wouldn't be so hard on this game if it had a competitor. I'm not saying the complaints in this thread aren't valid, just you would think half of the people who post in here were game developers/worked for THQ/could run a better ship with the restrictions placed on Corey and others who work on the game. I hate to root for the bad guy but Corey answers to someone who then answers to someone who THEN answers to the WWE. The game is on a year cycle, you can't expect such perfection in a year time frame, ESPECIALLY, when its not a AAA company (see: EA, Activision)

The Madden Syndrome. It's the only game in town so they don't have to work as hard, and while some decry the newest installment, they still go ahead and keep playing. Unfortunately, it's not the NBA2K syndrome, where they're the only game in town by default.

They're already taking the time to mo-cap the things, they may as well have the guys perform them accurately. Look at Kofi's Trouble in Paradise. That thing is garbage, and it has been since it was first introduced in SvR 2009. They get endless fan comments about people HATING the thing, and they haven't attempted to fix it four games later. WWE didn't tell them to make the move look wrong. I AM very excited for this game, and it will definitely be a day 1 purchase for me, but I can't turn a blind eye to nagging problems either.

I dont know about the rest of you, but i would stop buying WWE games if they're published by EA. Absolutely one of the worst companies to publish video games. They're up their with Capcom in "horribleness". If you thought THQ put out the most uninspired wrestling games, you'd want to go back to playing Super Fire Pro Wrestling when EA is done with this franchise.
As for WWE 13, they're not gonna fool me with a day one purchase again. I'll get the game a few months after.

Speaking of Kofi, it took like two games just for them to put a damn jump into his entrance.

Like I said in the last thread, I haven't bought a WWE game since SvR 2010 so the slow pace of the changes won't be so glaring to me. I reckon I'll really enjoy it because most of what might not have changed or been done right in the last couple editions will still be new in comparison.
Still, you always want to best possible product and you can't really defend their odd way they seem to really get some things dead-on with exacting detail and other things are sloppy.
Short of the franchise switching hands, I don't think you'll ever get a real quantum leap forward. Maybe to a degree with the next gen consoles, maybe if they get a sizeable budget boost.

Okay, I dunno if this is really the place for it, but this is the game thread. I'm thinking about picking up a copy of an older WWE game, maybe SD vs. Raw 2008, simply because it'll be dirt cheap. Is the quality of the game worth the outdated roster?

Who else is going to replace current Cena with 04 Cena? I think he'll work better as a heel/tweener in my universe than current Cena. I have plans for my babyfaces.

As I noted before, I plan on doing a "Clone Wars" angle with the multiple versions of wrestlers, which means I'm probably going to do a feud with current Cena fighting his 2004 version.

Plus while still a pain in the ass, grinding stats for CAWs in it isn't nearly as much so as 2009.

Get 06 or HCTP, IMO.
Also, just wondering exactly what they put in place of Punk's Cobra Corps and Pepsi Tattoos? I've never managed to get a decent look at them.

Wii version looks pretty good graphically. About the same as '12. Good to know a lot of the Attitude Era stuff is included in that version. Looks like a buy for me!

I'm most looking forward to seeing what kind of hijinks New Legacy Inc will get into with this year's installment.
