I'm still really digging the show, but I still wish they made Michealanglo a bit less dopey. He's getting near "jerkass" Homer Simpson and South Park's Jackovasaur, and that's not a good place to be. 2003 Mikie had this problem too, to be fair.
Still loving Clancy Brown and last week's Jeffery Combs (!) appearances, though.

Love this series, nice blend of the goofiness of the '87 series and the seriousness of the comics and the 2003 series.

Love this series, nice blend of the goofiness of the '87 series and the seriousness of the comics and the 2003 series. I agree. I'm surprised at how much I love this show. While the original will always be my favorite, I definitely look forward to this each Saturday.

Good episode. I am sure Splinter at some point showed mercery to Shredder in the past, and that went to bite him in the butt, yet that doesn't discourage for beleaving in showing mercey.
The Turtles relationship with the blind guy, they did something similar in Gargoyles with Hudson befriending a blind guy, but I thought they did better in Gargoyles because they left things ambeguous, I rather they left it like that.
Xver and Bardford, they are Shredder and Krang in the 80's series, they bicker like a married couple.

Watched the first 3 episodes last night and I'm absolutely in love with it. Diddn't think I'd like the animation style but I love it, The anime style eyes at certain moments is a nice touch. its wierd seeing April being so young though and I don't like how Splinter looks, he looks too much like a real rat and not "cartoony" enough. The theme song sucks, but maybe thats because I miss the original theme.

But that's why I like the theme, it's pretty much an homage to the original theme song, even if it's rap.

Wow, that was a great episode even BEFORE Shredder intervened. That battle only made the episode even better.
Business has just picked up.

Wow, that was a great episode even BEFORE Shredder intervened. That battle only made the episode even better. Business has just picked up. I thought it was also a great episode. I was wondering all the way throughout the episode, "Alright, Splinter told them they were overconfident. They are actually doing really well. Where's the twist that shows them their overconfident?" And then the Shredder entered. And I was like, "Oh man. S*** just got real."

And the humor was on point too. I had many laughs, especially when Don successfully defused the bomb after Mikey tells him to cut the green wire (because he thought it would be clever since they're green), and all Don could be excited about was the fact that Mikey was actually right about something instead of, you know, defusing the BOMB.

Simply put, this episode sealed the deal for me. They hit everything perfect in this episode.
Humor, action, continuity to previous episodes, and most importantly showing us just how truly ruthless Shredder is.

Okay, so one minor issue I have, though they've been screwy with this before, so it makes some sense. Technically the last creatures Xever and Bradford came in contact with were the turtles, not just the fish and the dog, so wouldn't they be turtles?
Ah well, it's just really overlooking things.

Michelangelo: You need a tissue? I'll get you a tissue ::uses smoke bomb to disappear to look for tissues:: We don't have any tissues. You want soup? I'll get you some soup.....::goes to use smoke bomb again before being interrupted by Donatello::"
Also loved Splinter frivolously using a smoke bomb to make his entrance.
The tone of the end of the episode was a great change of pace. I mean, I like the happy tone of the episodes' end but this was a nice little change of pace. April has to deal with not knowing for sure what happened when the Kraang took her dad away but it probably wasn't good and the Turtles know they're lucky to have survived and are all bruised up. I don't think I've seen the Turtles bruised up after being beat up (seen their shells dinged up in the '87 cartoon and treating said dings with Turtle Wax).

Ha, I was thinking the same thing. Once I saw Bradford and Xever came in contact with the dog and the fish respectively, I kept my eye out on what else they would touch just in case.

Anyone else catch the clever "Wolf" reference? If you don't get it, Wolf was the name of the company that did the 1987 cartoon.
