Journey's soundtrack has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Score Sountrack.
If it wins it'll be the first time a video game's entire soundtrack has won a Grammy. The first time any video game song won a Grammy was Christopher Tin's Baba Yetu, aka the main theme of Civilization IV.

Finally got around to playing the Ni no Kuni demo and.....I'm in love.
First of all, the game is simply gorgeous. It really is Studio Ghibli in video game form.
And then there's the gameplay, and holy crap! If there is ever a 3D real time MMO-esque Pokemon game it needs to play like Ni no Kuni. Cause that's what the gameplay feels like, 3D real time Pokemon, with the added feature of the trainer getting to throw down against the wild monsters as well.

You suck, Europe.
They better give us one of the Batmans soon.
Still pissed from last year when we bought the Back To The Future game at GameStop and it was the free game THE NEXT DAMN WEEK.

Ok, so I just tried to take over this enemy base 4 times, just got my ass handed to me over and over. Try 5 I see warthogs. Then I see a tiger watching them. Said tiger charges, the warthogs scatter in to the enemy base, the tiger follows. The bandits go apeshit start shooting everything and chucking molotovs all over hell lighting the grass all around them on fire. I then sneak up and kill them all with my bow. I have have a new base as the tiger chases a warthog in to the forest.

Anyways, was gonna post what was up next week in the Store, but god...there's NOTHING. A couple of things, but nothing that will mean anything to anybody here. This may be the worst week I've seen in forever.

Far Cry 3 needs a slogan and I think it should be "Ever hit a shark with a jetski?"
Cuz yeah, I now have, a few times. But then it is hard to skin them! They sink so deep.

I think the only real issue I've heard about the game is it has some texture and model loading problems ala Assassin's Creed III.

It does, though not as bad. It does have the exact same weird ass artifacting as the texture loads. My only real issue is the draw distance making sniping a little less fun than it should be.
It reminds me a lot of Assassin's Creed 2, where all the random shit has a purpose. I have done like 3 missions. But have played 6 hourish. Just jacking around, it is glorious. It has that playfulness of Just Cause 2.

If so it lends a lot of replay value to this beefy game(I think the campaign is like 30 hours long).

f*** yes.
I checked my messages right before planning to log off for the night and saw I had a new message from Sony saying I had a cash reward.
They gave me $10 in PSN Store credit for being so active the week of Thanksgiving.
So used it to buy Puddle and Blade Kitten(don't judge me. I loved the hell out of this game when I had it on 360) for free.
I love you, Sony. Not enough to be a blind fanboy, but enough to where it is hard for me to justify going back to the 360.

Yikes. That store list IS pretty barren.
Hoping for some sales to lift my spirits.

IGN Gamescoop talks about game of the year awards. The first viewer question seems to be from Shane Satterfield. So they discuss the Triple A versus indie. And I tell ya, I like Brian Altano more every day.
Ign has changed so much over the past five years, and all for the better. People who still bemoan them are not paying attention to the editorial, just the numbers.

Finally got around to finishing Portal 2. Gonna try and go through the build up I've had for like, the past year of PS3 games!
"You are the farthest ever in space" "WHY ME SPACE?" "Because you are the best" "I'M THE BEST AT SPACE!" "Yes...."

"Because you are the best" "I'M THE BEST AT SPACE!" "Yes...." SPPPPPPPPPPPPPACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEE! I'minspace! God, I love that game SOOOOO much. ;D == Couple more news tidbits. Ubisoft is going to do a Far Cry 3 update patch where you can toggle most HUD/UI elements based on player preference. Example: You don't want the mini-map on your screen so it feels more engaging to the story, and more like a movie? BINGO! Also, while Bioshock Infinite has been delayed, apparently a few writers got a chance to preview the first couple hours of the game. Word is that it's pretty damn good so far. Watching Sessler's impressions right now.

Shane Satterfield had himself a little whine on Invisible Walls about how no one understands him. Rather than explaining himself more clearly he said the internet sucks basically.

Here's the thing, Shane, it isn't just gamers on the internet, it is also your colleagues in game journalism that disagrees with you. I think the only person to agree with Shane so far is Michael Pachter, and that's only to a degree. Pachter thinks they should be nominated but won't win because the AAA games were more popular according to him. I just hope Journey or The Walking Dead win so Shane can suck it, because that'll be solid proof that the other journalists disagree with him.

Oh damn it all, BioWare! They left the original control style from the 360 on the PS3 port of Mass Effect 3, so basically the aim and shoot buttons and weapon wheel and power wheel buttons are flipped from what they are on the PS3 versions of Mass Effect 2 and 3. So you aim and shoot with L2 and R2 and use L1 and R1 to bring up the weapon wheel and power wheel. Considering I've been playing Mass Effect 2 and 3 a lot this year, it is taking me quite a while to get use to ME1's controls again. Why couldn't they keep the controls in line with the rest of the games on PS3? I actually feel bad for the poor bastards who bought the Mass Effect Trilogy set on PS3, as they'll be playing ME1 one way and then ME2 and 3 a completely different way.
