kotaku.com/5967888/you-can-vote-for-bioshock-infinites-reversible-cover-artDamn, all three of those "reversible" covers look gorgeous. I'd go w/ the far right one on the top personally. BTW, I agree w/ Ken Levine's strategy about the whole "box art" controversy. He's just trying to market the game to the current generation of FPS fans. He knows who are the hardcore fans of the franchise are. Least he's being honest about it. Can't judge a book by it's cover though. Trust me, the game will be good regardless of some stupid art.

The problem is by marketing the game to the knuckle dragging dudebros, they are just asking for some major backlash from said dudebros when they find out that:
A) The game is NOT the typical dudebro shooter. It actually has a story and has a major focus on philosophical themes.
B) It has no online. The reason dudebros even buy the FPS games they do is for the online. They don't give two s***s about the single player most of the time.
They should have just marketed towards the fans of the previous BioShock games to begin with. Though the reversible cover is a nice compromise.
But still I just can't shake the feeling that they are asking for trouble by marketing to a demographic that, well I won't say they lack the intelligence to understand something on the level of a BioShock title(though I'm sure there are some that do), but they certainly have different tastes.

I played the demo and enjoyed it, thinking maybe I'll ask someone for it for Christmas but the demo is only the one race.
Does anyone have the game? Is it fun?

I want to play it at some point. Maybe for my bday in Jan. The first game was fantastic and it outsides Mario Kart in every way these days, at least for people who grew up on the SNES and 64 versions of MK.

Yeah, it's not going to be a long lasting game, but for £14.99, and not me buying it, I asked for it.
Love Christmas!

So basically, Eternity Clock is going from $20 to $15?
I don't really know much about the game, but really, $20 was just too steep.

RAYMAN ORIGINS AND COUNTER-STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE ARE MINE! I might also get Catherine, will have to see how much money I have left over after Christmas gift shopping. Wait, just saw how cheap MtG 2013 and I Am Alive also are for Plus members. Sorry Catherine, but if I still have money left over its going to those two games.

Damn that's crazy cheap for Rayman Origins, if you've ever enjoyed a 2D platformer buy it.

I'm sorry, but the tone of that Kotaku article and posts such as yours just drip with elitism. It's no different than calling video games a bunch of virginal neckbeards who live in their parents basements.

I'm sorry, but the tone of that Kotaku article and posts such as yours just drip with elitism. It's no different than calling video games a bunch of virginal neckbeards who live in their parents basements. Sorry you feel that way, but Ken Levine freaking went to frat houses himself and asked them if they even heard of BioShock, almost none of told him they have. He's trying to market his game to people who don't want to play his game by making the cover the same style as the games they do play. He's basically trying to trick them into buying a game they honestly probably don't want. And the second point about multiplayer is an actual fact! Activision and EA have stats of the amount of people who actually play the campaign modes on games like Call of Duty and Battlefield and a very large amount of them don't even touch the single player. They only play multiplayer. And he's trying to market a game with no multiplayer to this crowd. It's like trying to market a romcom to people who only like explosion filled action flicks. They are completely different demographics. He's marketing a philosophical game with no multiplayer to people who statistically don't play single player and almost only play multiplayer. It is more than likely going to blow up in his and 2K's face.

fair enough, but it doesn't justify pretending every single person who plays CoD falls under some unfair frat-boy stereotype.

Hell I play Call of Duty(and Battlefield). I was talking about the dudebro gamers, you know, the gamers that ONLY play M-rated shooters with lots of explosions with a heavy focus on multiplayer and sports games. You know, the kind of assholes who sling racial, homophobic, and sexist slurs online. You know, the people who ARE that frat boy stereotype incarnate.
