Somebody needs to buy NWA and just revamp it. "Yes, I'll pay fifty dollars for one!" I bid 25 dollars and 10 piece KFC meal.

What's sad is that the NWA title has spent more time vacated the last 20 years or held by money marks who never got a chance to sniff the title if it the NWA wasn't a shell of shell.

Maybe someone gave the "businessman" in charge of the NWA some good money to win the belt. How much would it cost? Woody's name needs to be on the same list as Rhodes, Race, Flair, Steamboat, Sting, the Funks and uh... Mike Rapada

I say the vacancy should be filled in a three way dance between Colt Cabana, Adam Pearce, and Shane Douglas. First one to place the title belt in a trash can placed on top of a pole is the winner and new champion!

The sad thing is, is that I'm fairly sure the 7 Levels of Hate thing was really meant to bring some excitement back to the title, but the new owners f***ed themselves in the ass, same as they did by telling their biggest affiliate not to use the NWA name anymore.
This isn't another Shane Douglas thing, this is the NWA owner being an idiot.

Because I will hold the presidency of a company that died, R.I.P. twenty-five years ago!" As far as them not sanctioning the match, I always thought it would be a cool angle to have an unsanctioned match between a champion and a hated enemy and he basically has to pull a "Rocky IV" and relinquish his title in order to get this unsanctioned match. But despite the match being "unsanctioned" and the champion being stripped of the title to participate in said unsanctioned match, the vacant title will be awarded at the next TV taping to the match's winner by the on screen authority figure.

I'm so confused. They basically had both guys bury the title AND the NWA as a whole. Why not just let Colt hold it?

Because neither of them want to work with the NWA anymore since the new owner took over. This whole feud was designed to end with Colt winning the belt back, and re-establishing some integrity and prestige back to the NWA. But the new administration decided to be a collossal dick, so they both said screw it.

That's....yeah, that's just a perfect way to close off a seven match series of hot-shotting the belt back and forth. Bury the title and the company. The fans must have felt INCREDIBLY satisfied by that ending.

The fans must have felt INCREDIBLY satisfied by that ending. Blame the company that thought it would be a brilliant idea to make the last match of the feud that was bringing their company positive attention (for once) a unsanctioned match. I don't blame either of them, in fact, I applaud both men. They worked so hard on this to be something special only to have it pissed on. The new administration probably did this because Colt and Pearce were Marquez guys.

I guess after being dumped by the WWF, WCW, ECW, and TNA, the NWA wanted to be the one to shoot itself in the foot this time.
Here I figured Adam Pearce would one day be buried with the belt.

It was an intense moment, and you could feel that both guys meant it. The crowd loved it in paticular because we were robbed by the match not being sanctioned by the NWA like it was promised, like Colt and Pearce said, it showed just how much in the past the owners were stuck. The part that gave me chills was walking with everyone out of the building and seeing the title just sitting there in the ring by its self, it was a great visual that spoke volumes of the situation. I wish i was quick enough to get a photo of it. It was a great historic event to be a part of. I don't see how the NWA title can live beyond that night.

Looks like an unkempt gravestone. Don't bury it; the thing will just rise and kill again. Put three silver bullets in the dome, drown with Holy water and set it on fire.

Pearce has gone to Facebook, basically thanking everyone (including the past and current NWA bosses) and reaffirming his statement that if he couldn't beat Colt he was done. He didn't outright say he was done with wrestling, but did say that he may never step into an NWA ring again. He called his times as champion the proudest of his career, reiterated his love of wrestling and the NWA, and stated his hope that the next man to hold the championship would feel the same way about it. This caught me off guard. I thought the logical ending was Colt wins the series and the belt, Pearce rides off into the sunset, and the NWA goes forward with a top indie guy who travels the world as champion. Instead, we've had NWA Hollywood, the group with the biggest buzz around it, dropped from the alliance, and two guys dropping the belt and walking away. I imagine there will be a tournament and some random guy will win the belt. Since the change in ownership, the promoter of the NWA Legends Fanfest events that I have attended has been told to stop using the NWA name, even though the event has attracted fans from all over the world and he has used the NWA champion on the live cards. What's Mike Rapada doing nowadays?

I had a feeling that something like this was going to happen when Colt talked about the match on his podcast a few weeks back and added something to the effect of the NWA and the NWA Title not meaning anything anymore. The tone of his voice didn't sound like "i'm saying our feud is bigger than the title" but more like "I'm pissed with this situation and f*** that company."

Wait so Adam Pearce, who spent about 4 years giving himself the title (to the point where he's not far off of Cena in total days) intentionally gave up the title? I'm calling BS.
