We'd get a sensible approach to the deficit and a strong defense against the Skrull Brotherhood. For 8 years anyway. Then the Masters of Evil (Senate) and the Legion of Doom (House) would return to normalcy.

But I went to early vote last week and voted Obama. Lost cause considering TN is super red. I voted McCain in '08 but I really back Obama after these past 4 years. It's a shame that Congress has been such a let down as far as national problems because they can't work together.
To look at our other Congress reps, I believe over all they have been pretty good for us. Corker and DesJarlais (even though he has had personal problems that go against some Republican values) have kept TN from going into the ground. I'm pretty sure our state debt is one of the lowest and our unemployment level is significantly low compared to most states.
But now a serious hypothetical. Let's say that Linda wins today and does amazing work or whatever and runs for President a few elections from now. How does that work for Vince? Will we have John Cena day? will the Royal Family across the pond have to join a certain club?

A strong third party would be a huge positive in the States. In Canada, generally two parties get the most votes, but in the past number of years, it's went in different directions. Years ago, the Liberals were in with a majority government, with the Tories and the NDP getting scraps. Now, the Liberals are getting scraps, the Tories have a majority, and the once weak NDP are now the opposition party.
We had to do some school project during the 2000 election. That year, there were 5 main parties, the Liberals, the Tories, the NDP, the Bloc Quebecois and the Alliance. Now, the Bloc is pretty much a non entity and the Alliance party is no more, but the Bloc had Quebec pretty well, and the Alliance had the west pretty decently.

The world is watching America. After the Olympics debacle and a few other things, even my more conservative friend are hoping for an Obama win.

After the Olympics debacle The what now? Probably referring to Romney badmouthing the problems London had with security and such when putting the Olympics on. One of the London officials actually had a really funny response to it.

I voted for Romney since I'm in a swing state(North Carolina) if I wasn't in a swing state, I would have voted for Gary Johnson no question. I voted Libertarian in our gubernatorial and congressional elections though.
My political views are weird. My beliefs are a bizzare combination of the Green Party in some respects, and the Libertarian party in others.
So why did I go Romney? Because I'm just not happy with Obama. That's all I can tell you. And Romney's views are just a tad bit more in line with my views. Enough that I don't have any regret voting for him.

Watching CNN. Why would Wolf interrupt those people who were having a very interesting discussion about the role of Latino's in the future of the Republican party just to give exit poll data for STATES THAT AREN'T EVEN REMOTELY CONTESTED! I mean, if it was for Virginia or Colorado I can understand, but who cares who's voting what in Kentucky and Indiana. You just put those points in Romney's column when the polls close and go onto something more interesting.

Has there ever actually been a case of the electoral college going against the actual public vote? I think you are asking if any electoral college delegate ever actually voted against his/her state's intended vote. If so, no they have not, but they actually could. There is no law forcing the selected delegate to actually vote as his state selected, though if it ever did happen it would easily spell the end of the electoral college as it currently stands. Personally, I wish every state did it the way that Nebraska and NH do rather than this winner-takes-all policy. This will change the focus of campaigns as every state becomes a swing state.

New Hampshire does have a winner-takes-all policy. I think you meant to say Nebraska and Maine.

Voted Obama. I'm in Texas so it won't make a difference but I still went with him. I would have voted third party but some of the issues on the line I agree with Obama on.

Just wondering: Did anyone get an Election Day notification from Facebook? I got one that says "It's Election Day. Tell friends you're voting in the 2012 election and find out where to vote."
