John Cena and Batista won their respective titles on the exact same day, about 30 minutes apart from each other. They're both champions to this day, and Cena's recently usurped Triple H as the Internet's biggest target (albeit for different reasons).
While Cena's gotten the lion's share of the attention, I'm still wondering what everyone thinks of Batista. It seems like the only significant stories I heard about him revolved around his recent injury and the angle involving Eddie Guerrero (RIP). His and Cena's 2005 practically paralleled each other, except Cena's name pops up a lot more.
Generally, I like Batista a lot more than Cena, and I'm wondering what everyone else thinks.
Edit: okay, right after I posted this, I saw the thread about Batista working through his injuries and what not. One more news item about him I guess.

He's capable of being charming, so I don't mind him. Sometimes he entertains me, sometimes not. I'm pretty luke-warm on him.

Well because of the injury and what he was in the middle of with Guerrero it's hard to judge how he's doing at this point as there's some really big factors involved that he can't control.
Before both the injury and Eddie's death I was digging the storyline with Guerrero and I've always liked Batista.

I like Batista because I think he looks good in the ring. Like when he gives someone a spinebuster it looks like it hurts. He also is very likeable which is a good quality especially for the champ.

I like Batista, too. He's not a technical marvel, but we don't need him to be. I think he's working the "cool Dave" pretty well. I'm very entertained by him in the ring and on promos.

Batista's good. He can actually hit convincing moves, unlike Cena.

This says it all: Batista has gotten better, Cena has gotten worse.

Batista comes off as very charismatic, but not forced. It works very well in giving him the presence of a champion. He doesn't have catchphrases, he doesn't have hokey gimmicks, he just seems like a Nice guy/tough guy/Cool Guy and most importantly a Real guy. Older fans can connect with him due to his toughness, younger fans can connect with him cause he's cool, and young girls think he's attractive. He has the mix that Kevin Nash was talking about in that other thread.
Contrast that with John Cena, who has a ton of fans among younger fans (both male and female) due to his gimmick and charisma, but not a lot of fans among older males, due also to his gimmick. As I said in another thread, this leads to the split crowd of high pitched cheers and the low pitched, more audible boo's that Cena seems to get lately. I personally think that they both have a great amount of potential, but they are both limited by certain factor's (Batista's age, Cena's gimmick) that may limit how much of that potential can be reached.
P.S. Don't flame me for "hating on Cena" cause that's not what I'm doing. Just contrasting the reactions of the two champions.

^ I agree with the whole post above me. Batista has grown into a great champion. My only concern is when he loses the title they will not know what to do with him, especially if he stays a face. But he is my favorite wrestler right now and is that one guy who I want to see what he does from week to week.

He's not really all that bad ringwise, but I personally find himto be just too damn bland. Also, his promos are rarely if ever at a minimal level of decency.
