I inevitably left some off, but you can mention those. Keep in mind this is underrated losing performances in the Rumble. So you can't say Rick Martel in 1991 was underrated or the Million Dollar Man in 90. They are highly touted.
This is for those guys that did a lot of hard work in a Rumble, but didn't get much credit. They aren't mentioned each year in the build up, but they should be.
My list is mostly guys that spent a lot of time in the ring. Most were one of the last eliminated. And I think most of them tied the Rumble together.
The pick to me is The Rock in 1998. For a guy that became so big later, this was his big coming out party. This was where Vince let him carry one of his biggest events. Rock came in early and was the last eliminated by Austin and made the event watchable all the way through, IMO. But it is never mentioned in greatest Rumble performances.

I'm a pretty casual viewer, but of this list I only remember Bulldog.
I guess the rest are all equally underrated!

Rick Martel in...1990? Went like 50 minutes, even Gorilla was impressed.
Not one of the latter day "Hey, I'm gonna be in here for an hour so I'll spend long times just lying on the mat or standing in the corner" performances, either. He workd the whole time.

Bob Backlund in 1993.
Here's a guy who left the WWF years earlier and this was pretty much his return match (at least significantly) and he lasts close to an hour. And for years that was the record for longest Rumble time. And it still holds up even in 2012 as one of the longest ever Rumble times.
Underrated, definitely.

I picked the Bulldog until I remembered Bob Backlund's showing in 1993.
He got screwed.

CM Punk in 2009? Check how many times he skins the cat.

I picked Backlund in 1993. As an eight year old I had no idea who he was, but did after that. The Rumble used to be able to do that for guys.
Aside from that I'd go with Punk last year. The idea of having a stable help you eliminate the competition was pretty interesting.

I kind of want to say Mr. Perfect in 2002.
Mainly because it was so unexpected and it had looked like he hadn't lost a step.

I always remember the lower card guys that lasted ages for some reason.
Like in '98, Phineas Godwinn, Blackjack Bradshaw, 8-Ball and Thrasher all went 30 minutes or so.
Bob Holly in '96 too.

Wasn't there a year where Road Dogg lasted a ridiculously long time by curling up in the corner and clinging to the bottom rope the entire time he was in?

Also I give an honourable mention to Rikishi in 2000. Dude was tearing it up before he got dumped out.

A nod to Santino last year as well as when it seemed when he was going to win, the place was exploding.

Backlund was tremendous, but nods as well to Rick Martel AND Greg Valentine at the 1991 Rumble.

Kane 2001.
11 eliminations and about 53 minutes, in that mask too.
