Punk is something of a grizzled vet, having wrestled around the world, building his reputation on the indies. He's a tough looking, tatted up guy with more of a mat based style, with some impact moves.
Ziggler is the flashier, cocky pretty boy who got a WWE deal after an impressive amateur wrestling career. He's wrestled as part of a tag team (with the Spirit Squad) and has risen through the ranks at the IC/US title level over the last few years.
Does anyone else get a Bret/Shawn vibe from them? Its not a perfect comparison, but it kind of reminds me of it. Hopefully without as much real life heat, but I think they're two characters with fundamentally different lifestyles and personas that mesh really well in the ring.

I was hoping Dolph Ziggler would take the title off him and then Punk would sort of go away for a bit, but I'll admit they have amazing chemistry.

I love their matches together (though I do think Ziggler has better chemistry with Orton) but I absolutely hate that Punk seems to not know how to take the fameasser. He's taken it from his knees two weeks in a row and it looked pretty bad both times IMO. That's a minor complaint, I know, but it's odd when I see Punk making a move look less painful than the other wrestlers do.

They have amazing chemistry, I think. I hope they can become arch rivals in a Bret/Shawn capacity, if WWE books it well. I want to see Ziggler keep losing close matches to Punk until he wins it big, thus turning him face.

My only concern is that Dolph turns into an afterthought here to the Punk vs. Ace angle.

and when Ziggler wins the title, possibly, at the rumble, it will be overshadowed by some kind of outside angle involving Punk's loss (Ace, Stephanie, or Jericho) that might be bigger, since it has been the year of Punk and Jericho is a bigger star but I hate for it to happen where it hurts a great moment in the long run of Ziggler's career. Things like this didn't happen in the past. If a guy was going up the ladder, he never or rarely got crossed up at an important point, devaluing his career highlights or rise

Yeah, lets just hope it doesn't end the same way.

It reminds me more of a Rock/Austin type feud, circa WM 15 in the sense that Rock(Ziggler) was the pretty boy, who had the pedigree of a champion. Austin(Punk) was the rugged, in your face guy.

I actually like the Punk/Ziggler feud and their matches. It's a breath of fresh air from the status quo and Ziggler is not only great in the ring, but he's also great on the mic as well. His promo before the match reminded me a lot of Mr. Perfect too.
Needless to say I hope to see them feud and maybe have Johnny Ace pick Ziggler as the chosen corporate champion/contender?
Their matches remind me a lot of Punk's and Morrison's matches in ECW. Usually they would be great matches and Punk would be close to attaining a victory, only to either be cheated out of it, or have Morrison get the win using his veteran skills. I think it's a great and interesting comparison to be honest.
