Anybody else have any really annoying older relatives that insist on sticking their nose into everybody's business or making it their business when it wasn't even tangibly related to them at all?
For me, it's my uncle, my dad's second-youngest brother, who despite being younger looks like a sack of mashed potatoes in a button-up shirt, knee-high socks, and glasses. He's the only one of my dad's brothers who never married, and lives with my Grandmother and prides himself on being her caretaker and basically running her show (since she's widowed and turning 80) when it's more like he never moved out of the house in the first place and is trying to spin it.
I don't think he actually works anymore... In fact I'm not sure what he's ever done. Everybody else has had concrete careers, he's the one that tried about 50 billion things and nothing ever really stuck, and somewhere along the line he picked up disability for... something. He seems to spend all of his days now playing Farmville and Cityville on Facebook while Facebook-stalking everyone else, while he isn't watching the neighborhood from their house.
Seriously, my dad helped me to move a rowing shell from our garage to the boathouse, which is within sight of their house, and an hour later my uncle posted an accusatory message on Facebook saying I could've should've stopped over, that it was awfully close to ignore them.
That's when he's not butting into conversations on Facebook or asking questions about why we're not doing such-and-such or whatever, always in either ALL CAPS or no caps because despite bragging about his supposed technological finesse and being the first person in the family to have gotten an email address he never learned to type like a normal person.
And it's irritating because I know if I call him out on it, he'll just hold onto it and either feed lies to my grandmother or just drag it out til Christmas or Thanksgiving to unnecessarily stir up drama because of it. That's when he's not seating himself at the head of the table and acting like he brings so much to the family and just in general acting so damned entitled. He's such a useless lump that he's got nothing else better to do than to keep Orwellian-like tabs on the rest of us.
End rant. Anybody else got any irritating relatives like that?
