I'm a little surprised at the Morishima love. Not that he isn't good.
Just what with NOAH being a dead promotion walking and all...

I'm about to watch Onita vs Akebono. I really really doubt Tokyo Sports' judgement though.
Oh, and Mai Shiranui winning again.... Ugh.

13: Atsushi Sawada & Shinichi Suzukawa vs. Laughter7 - December 31st 2011 That match was horribly dreadful. It has no place being near a "Puro Match of the Year" category.

The same list also has the like five minute title bout squash of Jun Akiyama. EDIT: I'll admit, the match made sense to be really really short, but still, that almost felt like Sheamus/DB

I just don't get why Okada/Naito isn't even on the list. For a while, that was the best match in puro.

House show. These awards are more or less the opinions of the Tokyo Sports writers who go to all the shows.

And apparently, they are really into spectacle matches, seeing how that really crappy Akebono/Onita match is there. (though I did like the fireball spot after the match)
Oh and boobies, because I can name a few people even on STARDOM's roster that are better than Yuzuki Shiranui, never the the joshi's on other rosters and of course the freelancers.

I think it's the total overall package for Joshi, not just in-ring, where many Joshi have Aikawa smoked.

Now how do they expect to sell any magazines with all these Japanese people on their list?

Fighting Spirit: Abdullah Kobayashi?
Isn't that the guy in Big Japan who looks like an Abdullah the Butcher 'mini-me'?
The guy who got married and had a deathmatch on the same night?
Is there something that happened to him this year that I hadn't heard about?

The Fighting Spirit award is given to those who show, of course, the most "fighting spirit" in their matches. Quite frankly I'm amazed at how many "mainstream" promotion guys have won it in the last few years, since that's more a indy thing to win, but wtv.
