Another fire the weather woman couldn't predict.

"unofficial media policy", you say? Well if it's not f'n official, you've got no f'n ground for firing someone over it. You might as well sue somebody for breaking a pinky promise. Actually it's even sillier than that since the way they present it, it seems to be a suggestion rather than an order.
Is it just a fad among businesses now? Fire employees if they have a Facebook account?
Also, I think it speaks volume that...

Natural hair on black women is so sexy, wish Minnie Riperton was still around. Oh and the law suit will be staggering.

I don't know why she would want to try to get her job back. I'd go work for somebody else (if she's good enough I'm sure she'll get some offers) and sue the pants of her former employer.

they fired over "unofficial policy"? they are sued. they are so sued. if it's not official policy then it's not a policy at all and it isn't legitimate grounds for dismissal. as an HR guy I hope she takes them to the cleaners.

That's ridiculous....
Sadly, despite the uproar and unfairness of it all, people will still tune into KTBS-TV instead of saying "you know what, f*** this company" and watching the weather elsewhere.

That is really a stupid reason to fire someone.

Well, that's telling. Can't help but agree with Thug Chuckles either. Why anyone would want to go back to a company that not fires them for responding to a critic, but sides with the critic is beyond me.

Suing probably wouldn't work, since the TV station is in Louisiana and Louisiana in a right-to-work state, they really can fire for literally anything they want as long as it's not against discrimination laws. Hopefully the negative press they receive hurts the station significantly, because her response was absolutely ridiculous to fire her over.

Theyve probably been looking for a reason to give her the ax for some time.

Considering the post that started the debacle does include racial issues, I'd say it can be considered to be somewhat discriminative (also, I doubt anyone would've made such a fuss over a man's hair).
