2005 Colts. Lost to the Steelers in the divisional playoff on the most wide right kick ever. The idiot kickers last stand... In Indy anyway.

2000-2003 Oakland A's. Pennant-caliber teams that could not win a single playoff series. Great rotation, above-average hitting. Won 3 division titles in 4 years (the year they didn't was at 102 wins- 14 games behind the record-setting Mariners) They played 7 win-and-advance games where a win would have sent them to the ALCS. 7 times they lost. 1999 Cleveland Indians- Only baseball team in the last half-century to score 1,000 runs in a season. That Cleveland team was the most imposing lineup I've seen in eons. www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CLE/1999-batting.shtmlThey blew a 2-0 ALDS lead to a Boston team that was basically Pedro, Nomar, and 9 guys named Moe.

Gotta be the Randy Moss Vikings They won a divisional playoff game against the Cardinals, so they don't count. If you're talking the 1998 Vikings that is. Moss' Vikings never went one-and-done in the playoffs.

Last years Chicago Bulls team. You can't really recover from Derrick Rose tearing his ACL though.

Just to name someone different, I would go with the Falcons the last couple of years. They had a good record/decent team both years and got slaughtered in the first round of the playoffs. And the manner in which they lost in 2011 was what made they my pick. It wasn't like the lost a close game to an under-achieving Giants team. They got their asses handed to them 24-2, at their house, in an absolutely pathetic showing.

2011 San Antonio Spurs got knocked out in the first round by the #8 Memphis Grizzlies. I'm still bitter about it lol

2008 Chicago Cubs...holy crap what a great team top to bottom, never thought in a million years I would ever love Jim Edmonds but his time with the cubs was awesome! too bad they got swept that year... I was at Game 2 at Wrigley when Zambrano and the defense took a major dump. That was the first time I had ever left a game early.

1993-94 Red Wings: they were seen as a lock to win the West and a favorite to take the Cup, but lost to the Sharks in only their third year of existence, and one year after they set an NHL record for most losses in a season.

I was gonna suggest the 2001 Seattle Mariners, but then I remembered (by remember I mean looking it up lol.) that they won thier divisional series. Still, winning the most games ever and not even making the World Series is pretty bad.

Going to add the 99-00 St. Louis Blues. Won the Presidents Cup and lost in the first round to San Jose.

The 1993 Atlanta Braves... They made that amazing comeback to steal the division title from the Giants, and then they lost to the roided-up Phillies in the playoffs. There is no reason the Braves shouldn't have mopped the floor with the Phillies. Just another reason I hate Lenny Dykstra.
The 2002-05 Braves also warrant consideration. Sure, they were known for not being great in the playoffs, but not for losing four straight series like that. They should never have lost Game 5 at home to the Cubs in 2003, and the Chris Burke game from 2005 is still painful to watch. At least the Astros got a trip to the World Series before the franchise collapsed.
