Triple H during his initial feud with Cena in 2006 was so ridiculously self-indulgent with some of the things he said.
"Well excuse me if I'm not afraid of the guy who's one big move is pumpin' up his Reeboks!"
"True, you happen to not be a very good wrestler..."
And at the press conference the week of the event, I'm paraphrasing, but he said something to the effect of "Normally at this time of year I'm feeling the pressure heading into a WrestleMania main event, but this is gonna be the easiest one ever."
As many have said, it's f***ing counterproductive to go out there and outright bury your opponent, because if you beat them - hey, great, you beat a complete loser. If they beat you - you just got beat by a complete loser.
Way to sell a PPV WrestleMania main event, Hunter.

He did the same thing with Booker T. In fact his whole heel run pretty much revolved around him being a smug asshole.

"Shut your mouth you thong-wearing fatty!" While Rikishi's heel turn was ill-advised to begin with, he was still looked at as a guy who could hang with the top stars. Rock saying the above line just made Rikishi look like a total joke. I dont know about that one, I was still a kid who very much believed wrestling was 100% real and "Thong wearing fatty" is exactly how I saw Rikishi, I hated the fact that he was in that 6 Man Cell match, and he goes and totally gives away the biggest bump of the match by repeatedly checking his landing position.

"I hope you die in a car accident."
The only one I've ever seen where the dude DELIVERING the promo buries himself because it's so awful.

Alot of Triple H's promos from his "Reign of Terror" against Jericho, RVD, Kane and Booker could fall under here. As well as alot of his "cute" remarks during the DX babyface reunion run.
Also, from a few Jericho departures ago, alot of the things Cena said towards Jericho buried the guy. Though I think that was more creative's agenda than Cena's. Probably because they didn't know if he'd actually be back that time, unlike now, where it's pretty much considered when, not if, he'll return.

Austin to Lance Storm - "You're Boring"
Rock to Booker T - "Who in the blue hell are you?"
HHH to Kofi - "Didn't you used to be Jamaican?"
Cena to ADR - "You use rental cars"
Practically everything that Austin said to the Alliance.

What annoyed me most about that was the fact that Cena did the whole humble thing, which is strange since he was dissing everyone else up until that point. But here comes Triple H...the messiah of wrestling. The END ALL best ever apparently. Triple H talks shit, and Cena doesn't even respond to it. I mean, I like Triple H...hell, I loved the reign of terror (with the exception of a few moments), but my god does he stroke his ego. Even after the match, he went out of his way to say how Cena was green. Let's not get hasty, Trips...afterall he haven't been a great wrestler in about 11 years. Deep down, he knows it's true.

Ryder's ER line is easily the worst promo snippet I've heard in wrestling in the last couple years. Just truly awful.

"It was me Austin.....it was ME all along"
Buried the Undertaker in a sense, by having him play second fiddle to Vince.

I respect the guy for being good at what he does (but not that damn good) but Triple H will go down as one of the biggest cowards in wrestling. No way he would act the way he does if he wasn't in the position he is in.

"You're a poser" *SLAP* Still makes me laugh though. Never liked how they went from building-up for a big push to making the guy a total jobber because he didn't get over as the face in one dark match. Just looked stupid when the guy they'd been building for weeks in these segments gets b****slapped by Punk then squashed.

Or at least put them down. "How about you get your fat ass on the scale, Dracula!" What was the context of this?
