With Langston, Ryback, and countless other big strong guy wrestlers to grace our lives. Who holds the title as best ever or your personal favorite..
Could it be Mark Henry? or Luke Gallows? or Gene Snitsky? or Vader?

Most people will say Brock, but he's just too much of a colossal asshole to get my vote.
I think for me, it's Kane.

Was going to say Lesnar but I'm going with Undertaker, if we can call someone a hoss due to size and not ability.

Isn't a Hoss a huge guy that sucks? Which is why Kane, Taker and Mizark aren't usually referred to as such.
For pure hossitude I say the Warlord during his singles run.

JR just meant it to mean a Huge Physical Specimen, and he was the one to coin the term. It was internet fans who decided to only apply it to people with little to no technical skill.

You hit the nail on the head, when I think of Hoss I think of just a big old lug guy not anything more than heavy lifter heavy hitter, but nothing more than that.. Taker, Kane, I would consider brawlers..

Yeah I always think of hoss to be a big useless lug like Big E Langston, Big Zeke, Mason Ryan etc...
Brock, Kane, Ryback, 'Taker etc I don't consider hosses.

Vader (Big Van Vader as I prefer) is much more than just a "hoss" too.
I'm guessing Andre the Giant and The Big Show don't qualify as hosses, as they fall into the "giant" category. Hulk Hogan, a hoss by any other name, is another who surely transcends the "hoss" label.
I think the most successful TRUE HOSS is unquestionably John "Bradshaw" Layfield, who once held the WWE title for what seemed like an eternity (actually 280 days.)

If "technical skill" is a determining factor, I still wouldn't consider Taker, Kane, or Brock as hosses. I remember Kane having a very good "catch as catch can" style match with Big Show once and Taker... Yeah, many examples there lol.

If we're using the "big guy that sucks" definition for hoss, why did you include guys like Mark Henry, Luke Gallows, and Vader as examples?

Thats what Hoss means to me yes, but it means different things to different people.. I was just giving examples of Hoss types, to get the ball rolling on brain storming. I for one started only digging Mark Henry last year during his title run when he really got to shine. Before that I couldn't care for him at all.. Luke Gallows I like just fine he is nothing special yet.. As for Vader I don't really have an opinion on besides his awesome appearances on Boy Meets World and His battles with Mick Foley, and Sting.

To me hoss just means "big guy with a basic moveset". It doesn't mean their matches can't be entertaining. JBL is a great example. Wade Barrett to me is a hoss.

Brock.
...but to me hoss =/= suck.
Vader may be my absolute fave but that's mostly his WCW run.

Yeah, to me a hoss doesn't have to suck. They're basically big guys with a power moveset.
And on who's the best: Brock Lesnar, no contest.

How would Matt Morgan rank on the scale of hossitude?
The two names that come to mind for me are Andre and Yoko.
