Racism? Oh please. We're talking about sexual attraction. That's like saying not wanting to meet Mae Young under mistletoe is agism. Eh. It's more complicated than saying just "racism". Plenty of people will tell you they would never be attracted to/sleep with a woman of color/Black woman. I find it irritating, but there's nothing you can do about it when the majority beauty standard is COMPLETELY antithetical to what Black women tend to look like. Small noses, light skin, long fine hair, light eyes, light skin... This doesn't mean people who feel this way are racist. It's a hard to change a cultural perception of beauty. People who feel this way are not racist, but its way more complicated than just saying "Oh __ is racist because they aren't attracted to this group of people!" I'm a personal trainer and competed in fitness competitions before, and I'm not by any means ugly. However, I like many Black women have gotten the drunken "I'm not into Black girls" "Not you, ugly Black girl" while the guy sauntered over to talk to my Asian/White friend. I laugh at it now but back when stuff like that happened a lot (I was living in an area where I think people only saw Blacks once a year for a Will Smith movie) it was very hurtful. On the other side, I've never seen a guy tell one of my white friends he didn't like her "because she was White". That said, while I think Naomi has an amazing body her face isn't the most attractive in the book. I've seen the Wesley Snipes comparisons. Layla on the other hand is pretty, but has she ever done well in these polls? I can't remember and it seems that no matter how much exposure her character gets she cannot get over. Eve's numbers being so low are funny because she's featured all the time, but never gets any better in fan perception. It's like she's missing "it". AJ Lee is cute but I still don't get the fascination with her. She's generic to me. Probably because she looks just like half my family. Kaitlyn I could not see until they did better photoshoots of her. At times I thought her body could be a bit much, but when you're carrying that much muscle it's a difficult thing to feminize and style, and sometimes your shapeliness can come off looking like fat when it's actually muscle, since women carry muscle differently than men. I think she looks amazing in her fresh off of a work out photos, and she has a very pretty face, one of the prettiest faces I've seen of any diva. It does suck. My friend is like that. I showed her someone on plenty of fish who I was talking to and was interested in dating. I showed him and she was very cute, but she was black. And my friend said that he's just not into black girls. Which is odd I guess, I'm not quite sure why. What is the general reasoning for people not being attracted to women who are black? Is it the ones you said above, like the beauty standards or whatever?

Maybe nobody voted for the black girls because AJ and Kaitlyn are actually featured regularly.

I love how people are making such a big deal about a meaningless internet poll that, on that screenshot, barely has 200 votes. So people don't find Alicia Fox more attractive than AJ Lee, who cares? At first glance yeah, it seems pretty dumb to try to make a big deal about it. One thing that becomes really apparent in history is the relationship that racism has with sexuality. Racism in the early US for example, was largely about mixing and the potential baggage associated with it. And the offending side DEFINITELY used negative stereotypes associated with appearance. I'm not going to post examples but they're not hard to find. Or in Rome. Red hair = Barbarians. And even if you weren't a Barbarian, if you had red hair, you got compared to one. Just tossing that in as a disclaimer. Looks and race are tied together. And when people of one group are cast to the side in favor of a different group, that's just a matter of course.

People do realize AJ is Puerto Rican right...and Rosa is Spanish. I don't see how this could be a race thing.

The poll seems to me to come down to popularity as much as anything. People are voting for the ones that are most visible on WWE tv.
Trying to extrapolate any type of trends based on a poll that hardly anyone has voted on and that has no discernible voter breakdown is ridiculous. No one is denying racism exists but this poll is in no sense an indication of anything sinister.
Furthermore AJ, who is comfortably winning it, isn't exactly a poster child for White Supremacy.
edit: Just reading norsisclouds post and I see the point being made... but I still think if Naomi or Cameron were more visible and promoted on TV they would have gotten more votes. Just like AJ would have gotten far less if this poll was done when she was still a bit part player on NXT.

It's instances like this that make people roll their eyes when people play the race card, justified or not.
And, yeah, good point, doodie101. The fact that AJ is Puerto Rican kind of makes this entire conversation a bit silly.

Holy crap guys I was only being halfway serious there.
I just thought that the "0 Percenters" all having that in common at the time I saw the poll was a bit sad. That's all.
