WTF was he going to with an unloaded pistol?
And OF COURSE a little kid is going to show it off and threaten to kill someone. That mom is a mega goof.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love your threads?
There's a lot I'd like to rant about on this, but I feel that it's going to inevitably head into the whole political area of gun control, so I'll just limit it to this: it's a bad thing to hear about that a mother seriously thought it was a good idea to give an 11-year old a gun, but it's even worse that we live in a society where people are scared enough that this starts becoming an option.

WTF was he going to with an unloaded pistol? Giving a kid a loaded gun to protect himself at school is pretty stupid. Giving a kid an loaded gun to protect himself at school is about as stupid as it gets.

It's the kind of story where I can just see the people involved with a big goofy smile on their face loudly saying "What could possibly go wrong?!"
Also, I don't think the kid should be expelled. It's not his fault his mom is stupid.

When he goes to high school and the kids find out that he did this, they'll make his life a living hell. Imagine how bad they're going to pick on him for bringing an unloaded gun to school? He won't hear the end of it.

I'm far from a legal expert, but this is illegal on so many levels. Giving a kid a gun, kid taking it to school, threatening a school mate with it. Reckless endangerment of the child's safety, etc etc

I feel like even an 11 year old is too smart for that

Is this an updated version of the story? In the one I read on Yahoo, he didn't threaten anyone with the gun, just waved it around. Also, his parents didn't know and were shocked to hear about it. It was suggested that he got the gun from a relative who was living with the family.

The one I read on Yahoo yesterday said he allegedly threatened classmates, so it's not too much of an update if even one at all.

WTF was he going to with an unloaded pistol? Pistol whip someone. Of course, an armed shooter is just going to splatter his brains as the first easy target.
