Tawaiian Holmes’ life was hanging in the balance on Wednesday night when she was dragged under a car after a livery cab crashed into two vehicles, the New York Post reports. The pinned fourth grader beseeched her helpless mother to do something and the call was answered by at least seven burly men who lifted the car up and saved her life. “I think the men who helped are awesome,” E-Zara Paul, the girl’s mother, told the New York Post. “I thank God they were there because she could have died. She was pinned under the car from her neck to her toes.” While these good Samaritans had an entire crew of muscly men on their side, such an act of heroism doesn’t always require so many helping hands. When Alec Kornacki, 52, got dragged under his BMW while he was fixing his car back in August, his daughter Lauren immediately sprung into action, NBC 12 reports. The 22-year-old former basketball player shoved her body as hard as she could against the vehicle, pulled her father out and performed CPR until an ambulance arrived, according to the news outlet. "I'm just so lucky and proud I have daughters that can perform CPR and have the knowledge to save lives," Alec, who suffered several broken ribs and some fractures, said in a statement.

I did something like this in my town, the story is legendary. After an accident I lifted a bus once... well it was more a push really than a lift. Well actually the driver kind of had his foot on the accelerator. Just at the beginning, to get it going. Then it actually was me.
