Regarding the new episode announcement, I have to wonder. Why does Celestia want to reform Discord anyway? It seems like it would be easier to leave him as a statue as they did for thousands of years, especially given the immense powers he has if he can't be reasoned with. Maybe my theory is right... {Spoiler}Discord is actually Starswirl the Bearded after an experiment in the mystic arts went horribly wrong. It's possible, but I wouldn't bet on Starswirl actually appearing on the show live and in color. My guess is that Celestia feels that indefinite stone imprisonment is too harsh of a punishment, and that there may be some good in him. If the Mane 6 can reform Luna, perhaps they can reform Discord. Another theory is that Equestria needs both harmony and chaos for it to truly flourish, and that releasing and reforming the Spirit of Chaos may be the only way to bring such a balance. |

Considering some of the things that happened throughout the series, I don't think Discord's presence is needed for chaos to exist. |
