Whoa whoa whoa! Mega-star Ted Dibase might be released? But WWE's really been pushing him lately...

How in the hell is this the first time I've seen of this? Its funny because that GIF has probably been viewed by more people than the actual movie itself.

They just had no idea what to do with him. I liked his heel Million Dollar Belt run, and I don't care if that's a minority opinion. He was obviously not rising above and eclipsing his father's shadow (without being connected to other legacy people), so let him at least embrace the family history and run with it. I mean, jeezus, he called IRS "Uncle Irwin." That's just fantastic to me. The face turn was novel after that, and IIRC he did his best to put it over outside the normal WWE media, but again.....no idea what to do with him.

^They should've tried pairing Ted with Zack Ryder and made them a tag team of guys who used the Internet to get over.
Even without a storyline, they should've been showing the DiBiase Posse parties and using them as backdrops for segments.
Ted should've been getting regular TV time, the same way that someone like Kofi Kingston was.
If Ted is willing to leave, then hopefully it delays any mass firing of those who still want to be there.
The one good thing about this is that, if Ted DiBiase decides to return to wrestling, whether it be TNA, RoH, or the indies, he'll be Ted DiBiase (Jr.) no matter what. Anyone else on the roster would have to start over from scratch, which may hurt their prospects.

He was obviously not rising above and eclipsing his father's shadow (without being connected to other legacy people), so let him at least embrace the family history and run with it. This NEVER works. If you ever want to be a wrestler of a legend, you either have to change your gimmick dramatically or exceed that person in terms of talent. Ted Jr. could do neither.

And what makes him think that he'll be any more successful in Hollywood?

He was doing okay for himself, until that stretch where he was jobbed out to Bryan for seemingly six months straight.

He was doing okay for himself, until that stretch where he was jobbed out to Bryan for seemingly six months straight. I'd say that period was better than the one before it (feud with R-Truth, Virgil, Million Dollar Title). At least he was putting on great matches and on RAW/PPV.

I mean, jeezus, he called IRS "Uncle Irwin." That's just fantastic to me. I wasn't much of a Ted Jr fan but I loved that, I still think IRS should have been his manager for a while. His HiaC match with DX was the other time I liked him.

It's also weird to think that he had any merch in the first place. Look at, say, AJ, who's been consistently around the main event for the entirety of 2012. She doesn't have any merch, but Ted DiBiase does?

He should have been the one who turned babyface in Legacy. The fans popped when he pushed Orton down. But WWE with their eternal boner for Orton screwed it up

To be fair, who has a Ted Jr. T-shirt, you? I've never seen one. Those things probably DO NOT MOVE, god love him.

She doesn't have any merch, but Ted DiBiase does? Ted DiBiase has longevity over AJ, and for a short period of time, had an interesting hook with the DiBiase Posse stuff. And you can sort of consider CM Punk's I Dig Crazy Chicks as an AJ shirt.

BTW, what have been his more recent appearances? I remember he was in a pre-PPV battle royal some months back (his return match, eliminated pretty quick) and I heard about 1 or 2 jobs on Superstars.... has that been it?
