So for the past year, we've all been making jokes about how every little thing that happened to Tensai was going to ruin his gimmick. Last Monday, WWE flat out joked about him being Albert for the first time, and we all said Tensai was officially ruined. But let's think about this for a moment.
Tensai was getting essentially 0 reaction in all of his matches. If they joke about him being Albert, the Albert chants may continue and rise. If this happens, Tensai will be getting the fans to react tremendously during his matches. He could become a huge heel because he refuses to admit to being Albert. In which case, Tensai could be saved.

When i went to the house show in Manchester he reacted to the Albert chants, and seeing as this gimmick is pretty much dead why not go with your idea

I hate that this gimmick didn't work out. I was super excited when he came back and he was kicking all kinds of ass. I just don't want them to release him

It was foolish of them to ever ignore his WWE past in the first place. We don't live in an era where the fans will just........accept that.
Now that his past is getting mentioned, he's getting a reaction. It's not perfect, but it's better than where he was a few months ago.

They just didn't want to deal with the name "Albert".

He ought to just be Albert anyway. Being a fake Asian guy in yellowface is a dated, racist gimmick. Just let him be him, with the character that got him over in the first place and as the worker that he became while honing his craft in Japan.

WWE never claimed that he was Japanese. Ever.

Still don't know why they didn't just use the Giant Bernard gimmick with a different name. Instead of this whole Tensai thing.

He should have just been Albert to begin with.

I always found it interesting that the fans chanted Albert, when the name Tensai was going by before he left the WWE was A-Train.

There was no real difference between the two. He should have just been Albert to begin with. And fans will chant "Hip Hop Hippo" since he don't have back hair anymore.
