I have to say that it's still one of those "so bad yet so enjoyable" movies. I even thought the same thing when I watched it on TBS and WGN back in the late 1990s. With a budget of $8 million and making $16 million back in 1989, that's not too bad. No way was it going to compete with Batman, but it made more than its budget.
Also, I couldn't help but laugh about people dressing in tuxedos or ball gowns for the climactic fight between Rip and Zeus. Same with wearing suits means that someone is gay.

I bought it back in 1996 on VHS and watched it once. I couldn't watch it again afterwards due to the tape being in many pieces and the wheels being thrown around like streamers. Great fun.

Brell was a proto-Mr. McMahon, I'm surprised that Austin didn't somehow electrocute Vince.
Also, LOL at Rip's moron brother showing up to Zeus' fight in the steel mill while wearing a Rip t-shirt.
