Since this is kinda becoming the Official Matt Striker Commentary Thread, here's my favorite Strikerism:
Money in the Bank 2010: "The last time the WWE title changed hands here in Kansas City was when The Undertaker defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin at Over The Edge in 1999".
Because that's what's memorable about that show, lol.

Yoshi Tatsu is a Japanese strat-o-caster. Though the poisoned fist of the pacific rim nickname was awesome

Remember when he tried to give Luke Gallows 2 different names for his finisher?
"The 12th Step! The Gallows Pole!" Pick one you idiot

Years back, Striker was praised for his smark drenched commentary by a large number of people on the net. All it took for was random nicknames and miscues for the flock to abandon him. No, all it took was him being kicked off TV, and people were like, "Oh, I guess he sucked then. Okay."

I don't like his tone of voice. See, this is where I was with him. His voice just was off-putting to me. I barely even heard what he was saying.

I think he got a bad deal. He was green, but with a little instruction, he could've been really good. It didn't help matters when Lawler and Cole treated him like he was some idiot with no knowledge of pro wrestling. They were completely unprofessional at every Pay-Per-View they called with him. I think it was to be expected that he was going to have a few mistakes but his are more forgivable than guys with over a decade of experience messing up the simplest things every week. I don't think they did that because Striker made mistakes. They froze him out because they don't like him. It was obvious. King no-sold almost everything Striker said, and if he didn't, he had a true disdain in his voice when he'd reply. I think Striker got ousted because he was the 2006 Miz of the Broadcast booth. He just rubbed people the wrong way.

It seems to be accepted that Lawler and Cole do no prep work before a PPV or Raw in order to be spontaneous in their announcing, while Striker does/did tons of preparation which rubbed them the wrong way.

Did they do this specifically to create an amazing, perfect symbol for everything that's wrong with the WWE?

At first, I enjoyed him because he actually seemed knowledgeable.
Then, he kept talking and I thought, "Wow, he's kind of a douche."
Then, after listening to him for several minutes, I thought, "Wow, f*** this guy."
Apparently, Lawler and Cole felt the same way.

I still maintain he's the best commentator they have on the roster not named JR. I'd give my middle nut to have him back on commentary. He and Mathews should be in opposite positions. He's the only guy in the past several years to actually sound knowledgeable and informed on what the hell was going on. Then again, I'm a big fan of in-jokes and paying attention to detail/history.
Never ever got why people thought he sounded douchey.

Nothing beats the Smackdown before the Royal Rumble 2011, when Alberto was running a gauntlet of jobbers. At this point, Striker become a parody of himself listing these over-exaggerated back-stories of all the guys Alberto was tossing out.

I like the guy, though maybe I shouldn't, given my girlfriend thinks he's hot.
