I guess I can understand being flaky sometimes. I mean, we all have our moments, right?
It's the ones who seem to do that the majority of the time. And for whatever reason, those always seem to be the ones that just don't give a shitt about it.
"Oh, I was busy. Why are you so upset?" *goes and does a bunch of other stuff and makes it very obvious that they kinda do have free time..just not for you.*
I really just hate feeling slighted and feeling like I don't matter. If you don't like me or something, I'd really rather they just come right out and say it. Then at least I can work on getting over it instead of wasting my time feeling like a piece of shit all the time because I'm not worth your effort.
f***ing people.
Merry Christmas and bah f***ing humbug.

I agree with you, but please don't let it ruin your holidays.

Yup. Being treated like a second-class friend sucks like hell.

I agree. Habitually flaky people suck because of their dishonesty and abuse of others' good will. The best way to deal with them as friends is to never base your plans around them. They must be incidental at best. Don't budget anything assuming they will be there. If they want in onsome activity and didn't pay, tough tits and better luck next time. Make them either force themselves to be more accountable and appreciate the good will of their friends or just cut your losses if they refuse to change. It's simple, but not easy though, since you befriended them for some reason in the first place. Losing friends sucks.

Never make someone a priority in your life, when you're just an option in theirs.

Never make someone a priority in your life, when you're just an option in theirs. While I don't totally agree with this sentiment, he's right. If they're flaking on you don't let it get to you. If you start not caring as much they might stop flaking all the time

I dunno if it counts for much, but I do find a morbid enjoyment in watching people weave this complex web of lies to deal with the most minor of indiscretions, such as being late for a meeting or missing a call, even when nobody's offended or miffed by it.
It's one thing to be a liar, but another depressing thing to be oblivious to it, which'd be the category I'd place flaky folk into.

I know several of people who are like this I eventually ended up pushing them to the side cause to me if they are gonna be a true friend they aren't gonna constantly make excuses for why they can't do something.

It's crazy how many people I've met exactly like this in the last year.
I don't mind people having other things going on. But when that excuse becomes habitual, something is very wrong. Especially when you can't even keep the promises you've already made to make up for missing it in the first place.
I just cut them off. I'm not wasting any time trying to get them to put the effort into it.
