So in about 2 weeks, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences will announce the nominees for their awards. Right now, these films have been getting a lot of talk for the best picture nods, so lets predict which will actually get them.
Personally, I see Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Flight, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Moonrise Kingdom, Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty getting nominated with Lincoln winning it.

I went with Argo, The Dark Knight Rises(to make up for The Dark Knight's snub), Django Unchained, The Hobbit, Les Miserables(they looooooiove their musicals), Lincoln(bio pic), and Moonrise Kingdom. As for the winner, Lincoln, Argo, or Les Miserables. Not that I'll agree with it. Hell I've barely seen any of the possible moms this year.

I'm pulling for Argo...as well as Moonrise Kingdom and Lincoln.
However, I'm going to be f***ing pissed if Les Miserables wins. Total Oscarbait.

I'd throw Perks of Being a Wallflower in there. Probably Hyde Park on the Hudson too, if it lives up to the hype.

Judging by the precursors thus far, id say:
- Argo - Amour - Beasts of the Southern Wild - Django Unchained - Les Miserables - Life of Pi - Lincoln - Silver Linings - Zero Dark Thirty
All have a really good shot. Master and Moonrise have a chance, as well as Marigold Hotel.
As much as I loved The Hobbit, it's getting little to no love when it comes to awards so far, so it really doesn't have much of a chance at all. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it. Movies don't get nominated without strong showings in the precursors, and The Hobbit's showing hasn't just been weak, it's been non-existent.
So yeah, I'd say the 9 I listed are the ones with the best chance.

I said Argo, Dark Knight Rises (they screwed over Dark Knight so they'll give it a nomination), Django Unchained, Lincoln, The Hobbit (rewarding Jackson for his work with Tolkien's books, also because Fellowship and Two Towers should have taken home the Oscar for Best Picture), and Les Mis.

Avengers, Flight, Lincoln, Les Mis, and Zero Dark Thirty.
As far as who I think of those five will win, it's a tossup between ZDT and Lincoln. Whichever one wins will almost certainly snag Best Director as well (either Kathryn Bigelow or Steven Spielberg).

Lincoln, Les Mis, Argo, Moonrise Kingdom, The Impossible, Hitchcock are the ones I see getting the nod
I think there's really no chance that either superhero movie gets a nod. DKR wasn't received as well as TDK was, and for a summer blockbuster you need a whole lot of critical buzz to get a nod. I don't think it gets a makeup for TDK, nor do I think it should. Avengers was pure popcorn flick, which doesn't really translate to Oscar nominations.

It'll for sure get technical nods, and "Live To Rise" could be in the mix for Best Original Song (as could the title track from Skyfall).

I'd say these six are locks: Les Miserable Django Unchained The Master Zero Dark Thirty Lincoln Argo
As for the rest of them, I could see them being Moonrise Kingdom, Life of Pi, Dark Knight Rises (because of the backlash when The Dark Knight wasn't nominated), Amour, and Silver Linings Playbook. The dark horse candidate could be Skyfall, but I'd lean towards it not being nominated.

Argo Django Dark Knight Rises Les Mis Lincoln The Master Moonrise Kingdom Silver Lining Zero Dark Thirty
I think those will be the noms, maybe less if Master and Moonrise don't make it, but those seem the likely hits.

Argo, Lincoln, and Zero Dark Thirty are my top three, particularly because of the material: the Iran Hostage Crisis, the 13th Amendment fight, and the hunt for Osama bin Laden respectively. I'd also add Les Mis and the Hobbit to round out my top five.

It's easy, just pick the ones that old white men would like. I would love to see Skyfall get nominated. But it won't, but it should be a lock for a best cinematography nomination.

The Hobbit (rewarding Jackson for his work with Tolkien's books, also because Fellowship and Two Towers should have taken home the Oscar for Best Picture) The 17 Oscars the first 3 films won weren't enough of a reward? I'm just rooting for a Moonrise Kingdom nomination. A surprise Argo win would be nice, too.

Yeah, Return of the King winning EVERYTHING was their way of rewarding Jackson and the trilogy as a whole. If anything, id say it'll have a negative impact on The Hobbit in that some might feel Jackson & co. have already been rewarded for their work with Middle Earth.

I'm not sure I think would even deserve a best picture nomination to be honest. I didn't think it was that good of a movie.

I think both The Hobbit and Dark Knight Rises went into the year as locks for a Best Picture nomination and now would be considered something of a surprise to get it.

I'm not sure I think would even deserve a best picture nomination to be honest. I didn't think it was that good of a movie. I loved it. I thought it was very comparable to Fellowship, but with a better laid out and more tightly wound main storyline (Bilbo proving his worth to the group and himself). Fellowship did a great job at setting up the other films, but by itself there wasnt much closure or conclusion to any sort of story. That said, The Hobbit has no real chance of getting a nomination for Best Picture this year.
