www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFclvjxYWbkAlmost 20 minutes of vignettes. What an awesome, yet goofy gimmick Also, wow, the whole angle with him reposessing the dead people is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

Mike Rotunda was a fantastic and underrated wrestler. But he really went to town and sold the Irwin R. Schyster character with conviction.
It wouldn't shock me if Vince had written those promos.

The sheer glee he diplays in using that giant AUDIT stamp is incredible.

IRS was one of the few heels I truly hated back in the 90s. A truly underrated performer. I always get a kick if he has a cameo on Raw.

Why in the hell did R.D. Reynolds induct this is beyond me. Rotunda was dead on with those promos.

So does the government let all their employees wrestle on the side?
Also how many vignettes does one person need ?

I always hate it when people would call IRS "Wrestlecrap."
He was a great wrestler, he lasted several rather successful years and he sold the gimmick so well that he was as hated as any great heel of the period.

So does the government let all their employees wrestle on the side? Also how many vignettes does one person need ? They didn't all air together, so it wasn't as excessive as the video make it seem. The vignettes about the dead guy were from 1994-95 to build up the angle with Undertaker going into the 1995 Royal Rumble. Everything else was from 1991.

I thought the tax man gimmick was too grownup for the young audience at the time.

I thought the tax man gimmick was too grownup for the young audience at the time. Hey, the parents at the shows need someone to boo. Of course, they'd only be booing if they were no-good tax cheats!!!

He did well enough with this gimmick and was a good enough wrestler that I think if they had toned it down just a little and made it not so cartoony he might have been able to take it even farther. The problem is Irwin R. Scheyster is obviously a made up name. Compare it to "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, that's a flashy gimmick too but it has a real name in it. I wonder if it would have made any difference had he been called "Taxman" Mike Rotundo or something like that.

I remember watching Sur Series 93 with my parents. They both thought Irwin R. Shyster was hysterical
