Newspaper Spider-Man's awesome. Who doesn't thrill at Peter being an idiot who's constantly snuck up on and mostly solves problems by watching TV or whining until some other superhero swoops in to do it for him? Hey, if nothing else, at least him and MJ are still married in it. Aside from the MJ thing, this kinda fits my opinion of Spider-Man anyway.

Newspaper Spider-man has a shed full of all the f***s he doesn't give.

Just read Frank volume 3 Jason Aaron's run on Punisher Max. Holy crap it was great. One of the best Punisher stories I have ever read. I know their are some who are only fans of Marvel's Max imprint because of the ultra violence and nudity. Well those people were probably disappointed with this story because it has little of it. Most of the story is told in flash backs and is about Frank being just home from Vietnam after falling in love with war and trying to make a normal life with his family work. It's so heart breaking to see him trying and failing to be a normal family man because he sees them as his last hope after what he became in Vietnam. Also a cameo from Nick Fury which is always good! Before reading this I suggest rereading Garth Ennis' "Born" and "Valley Forge, Valley Forge" as a refresher. It makes me sad the next volume I am going to read is the last of Punisher Max. After Ennis left the title I lost interest. The string of Crime writers weren't bad they just neverreally got the psychology The Punisher. But Aaron just knocks it out of the park and right when it starts to good again it is over. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

"Wrath Of The First Lantern" got off to a decent start, Can't really say much about it as it's still rather vague at this point.

Speaking of DC Events, I haven't heard nearly any talk about H'el on Earth. Now that it's nearly over, I figure I should ask: Good, Bad or Meh?

I've really enjoyed it, He'l is a good character and his plan is cool and it's ction packed to boot Although DC really has a hard on for Time altering stories (Flashpoint, He'l & Wrath)

I haven't read the conclusion of H'el on Earth yet, but it has been MUCH better than I expected. A fun Superman family read.

Yeah, Third Army was pointless. It's erased in a single panel in the latest issue How so? Maybe erased is the wrong word but anyway {Spoiler}Volthoom pretty much says "remember that third army you created?, Yeah they're gone" and you see them disintergrate "Third Army" was Well built up but fell flat.

That's for sure. The Indigo Tribe arc into The Black Hand stuff and GL annual was phenomenal then the event happened. Disappointing doesn't even begin to cover it. I do like Simon though, bout the only good thing to come out of it.

I cant help but feel that while Sinestro Corps, Blackest Night and even War of the Green Lanterns were Johns' ideas, the whole Third Army story felt like an editorial idea that was pushed on him because his other GL stories were so successful. wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the reasons he's leaving the book, either.

I'm sure that's the case, Everything Johns has done with GL has been Awesome (To me) but "Third Army" felt off. as for Johns leaving, I'd rather him leave GL as I think it needs some new blood and they've chosen their new writing team well (On Paper). I hope he keeps up his great work on Justice League, Aquaman & JLA.

I've really been enjoying Uncanny Avengers for just how over-the-top Red Skull ripping out Charles Xavier's brain is, and they took it way past sanity this month. with that last page. {Spoiler}The story ends with a Three Months From Now tag, where Red Skull has become Onslaught So unexpected and wacky, can't wait to see it unfold.

Rick Remender is a Magnificent Bastard. You should check out what he's doing over on Captain America. {Spoiler}Not only has he placed Cap in some weird dimension run by the villainous Arnim Zola, he's also added the twist of Zola actually "merging" with Cap, so now he's got a Zola screen on his chest, and the good doctor trying to influence him.
