I've recently gotten to know a guy that used to work behind the scenes on Memphis studio wrestling in the 80's. I specifically asked him about the homosexual overtones of the Fabulous Ones videos. He said he didn't work on any of those, but when he saw the videos even back then he thought they came off as gay. He said that he remembered every once in a while someone would yell gay slurs at them at the Coliseum, but some of the redneckist-rednecks sitting in the front row would stand up and defend them by threatening anyone that would yell slurs at The Fabs since they were the good guys.
